Isaiah 32:1 - 32:20
This Isaiah 32 Chapter
continues God's warnings of not trusting in Him, and also goes a little into
the time of Christ's future "thousand years" reign on earth
(Rev.20). There is a comfort also found here for those who listen to our
Heavenly Father and His Son in His Word and heed His Counsel.
We ask a word of wisdom from our Heavenly Father as
begin, in Christ Yashu'a Jesus' Name, Amen.
Isa 32:1 Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.
Who might this King be, and
when is this reign? This of course is our Lord Jesus Christ, The KING, and
He will reign in Jerusalem for a thousand years with His elect priests and
kings per Revelation 20. These "princes" then represent the
overcomers of His people that rule with Him (Rev.2:26 forward; Rev.20:4).
Isa 32:2 And a man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
This is an analogy of Christ
being The Rock of protection, and as a River of waters in a
dry place. In this analogy "wind" (Hebrew 'ruach') is symbolic of
God's Spirit of future judgment upon the wicked, and Christ as spiritual
Waters contrasted to an empty wilderness. This verse applies both to
the time when God's consuming fire will destroy this second earth age, and
also into and through Christ's thousand years reign afterwards, including up
to the future time of the "new heavens and a new earth". Our
Rock Jesus Christ is our Passover of protection, as we learned from the
previous Isaiah Chapter. Even as Deuteronomy 32:31 declares, "For their
rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges."
Those who put their trust in a spurious messiah who comes first instead of waiting for The True
Rock Christ Jesus, will have misplaced their trust in a false rock (Matthew
24:21-26).
Isa 32:3 And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.
This
is meant in the spiritual sense, not the physical sense. It is to those who
are sealed in the latter days with God's seal, as per Revelation 7 & 9,
having spiritual eyes to see, and spiritual ears to hear. These do and shall
hearken to The LORD in His Word, and heed His warnings for the latter days,
and thus will not be deceived by the coming false rock and false king, the
false messiah/antichrist, which is the "dragon", "that old
serpent", the "Devil", i.e. Satan de facto in person upon
this earth (Rev.12:9).
Isa 32:4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
We
learned back in Isaiah 29:24 that those who murmured and those that erred in
spirit, shall learn doctrine. The spiritually dead of Revelation 20:5, who
spiritually live not again until the thousand years are over, will have the
veil of deception upon them during this flesh age finally removed. All will
spiritually have eyes to see and ears to hear God's Full Wine of Truth
during that future time of Christ's thousand years reign on earth.
The fleshy limitations posed upon many during this
second earth age will also be lifted. Our minds will not have the
limitations upon them as during this flesh time, thus, all shall understand
God's Truth and speak plainly. As per Jeremiah 31:33-34, God has promised to
put His Law in the "inward parts" of His people of the "house
of Israel" (ten tribes), and no one will have to ask his neighbor if he
has heard The Word of God, for all shall know God, from the least of them to
the greatest of them.
Isa 32:5 The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said
to be bountiful.
6 For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
7 The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh
right.
In
that day, the term "liberal" will no longer be misused as it
definitely is today. The Hebrew word there is 'nadiyb' (BDB 5081), meaning a
person of noble mind and character, princely, generous, gallant, righteous.
That doesn't apply to all those who use the term 'liberal' today.
Nor will the "churl" (scoundrel - BDB
3596) be said to be generous and bountiful. We easily see today how some in
high positions of authority abuse their power while trying to appear noble
and righteous on the outside to stay elected in office. Nothing will get
past our Heavenly Father, for He knows all hearts. But of course, those who
do not believe He exists have their own set of principles in life, and will
use whatever outer shell necessary to take advantage of people. As our Lord
Jesus said in Mark 8:36, "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall
gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"
Isa 32:8 But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.
But
the truly liberal, in the proper usage of the word, devise just things, and
seek to do right in all their dealings, and above all honors God with reverence, and despises the vile. David noted some of these qualities of the
righteous who shall dwell with God upon His Holy Hill...
Ps 15:1 LORD, who shall abide in
Thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in Thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be
moved.
Isa 32:9 Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech.
10 Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.
As in
Isaiah 3:16, God uses this "women" as an analogy to leaders in
Jerusalem during Isaiah's day, meaning they lack male fortitude. As the king
of Assyria Sennacherib would come upon the cities of Judah historically, a
Message is in this for the latter days also. For the latter days, a false
messiah will come to Jerusalem to work a grand delusion, and will
spiritually rape the deceived souls who bow to him as God instead of waiting
for The True KING Jesus Christ (2 Thess.2; Rev.13). For those who refuse to
heed God's warnings within His Word for that future time, they indeed will
be as "careless women", seeking to gather to Christ too early, and
instead they gather to a false one in Jerusalem who comes prior to Christ
Jesus.
In that time of the historical king of Assyria
coming upon Jerusalem, the vintage in the fields failed to be gathered
because of the fear of invasion. The latter day blueprint is in the
spiritual sense, as per the spiritual famine of Amos 8.
Isa 32:11 Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird
sackcloth upon your loins.
12 They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.
13 Upon the land of My people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy
in the joyous city:
The
girding of sackcloth was an Old Testament sign of mourning. The calamities
upon the lands of Judah caused by the king of Assyria coming upon it would
be trumped by Nebuchadnezzer, the king of Babylon, destroying Jerusalem and
taking the "house of Judah" captive to the land of Babylon for 70
years. Both of those historical kings who sieged Jerusalem represent these
"thorns and briers", as they characterize Satan's servants, the
head thorn.
Again, we should not forget the apostle Paul's
warning of 1 Corinthians 10:11 about Old Testament events serving as
"ensamples" for the latter day events. How does this historical
blueprint fit for our future? Instead of flesh pagan kings coming upon Jerusalem
to siege and physically destroy, the latter day king of Babylon
will be Satan and his angels as thorns and briers treading upon Jerusalem to
do a spiritual destruction. According to Revelation 12:6 forward, Satan and
his angels will be booted out of Heaven down to this earth for the future
tribulation. That latter day working by the king of Babylon will be one of
great deception. That is the type of devastation upon Jerusalem for the
latter days.
Isa 32:14 Because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of
flocks;
15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.
The
king of Assyria destroyed palaces and forts in various cities in Judea, but
it was the king of Babylon that would destroy Jerusalem. Even to this day
the nation of Israel is not restored to its former glory when Solomon
reigned. The Holy Land today is still being divided up by the nations.
In the sense of a wilderness compared to God's
future new heavens and new earth, the Holy Land still is a wilderness today.
Thus verse 15 has yet to be fulfilled completely. This also means do not be
deceived by the gathering of the Jews in the Holy Land today as fulfilling
this prophecy, for a much larger gathering by Christ Jesus is to take place
in that area, after the work of Satan at Jerusalem is destroyed by Christ's
coming (Zechariah 14; Mark 13:1-3; 2 Thessalonians 2).
Isa 32:16 Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.
17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
This
Chapter began in speaking of our King The Lord Jesus Christ reigning in
judgment. That event of His reign upon Zion in Jerusalem hasn't happened
yet. Nor has any true peace and quietness been restored in the Holy Land
today. There's been a lot of talk about peace in Jerusalem, but we haven't
yet seen it.
Isa 32:18 And
My people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;
19 When it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place.
We
don't see this happening in the Holy Land in our time either. Instead,
thousands of Jews are being forced out of their homes in Gaza as I write
this. Their dwellings certainly are not "sure dwellings" today.
That "peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings" will only occur
after Christ has returned to Zion and begins reign de facto on earth with
His elect priests and kings, over all nations (Rev.11:15).
The "hail" event represents God's
judgment upon the wicked. In the land of Egypt God rained hail down upon the
Egyptians, but none fell upon the children of Israel who dwelt in Goshen
(Exo.9:23-26). God brought great hailstones upon the armies of the five
pagan kings of the Amorites in Joshua's day (Joshua 10:11). But there is
still one more major hailstone event prophesied to occur, and it's for the
latter days at Christ's second coming. We read back in Isaiah 30:30 of some
of it. Ezekiel 13 and 39 refer to the final hailstone event of Revelation
16:17-21 which occurs on the 7th vial being poured out into the air. Just as
God's people were protected through that event on earth in Egypt, His people
who are not deceived will also be protected from that event in our near
future at Christ's return. No need for us to go anywhere during that future
great hailstone event, like flying away up in the sky, since the children of
Israel in Egypt remained on earth through it without being harmed. It is a
judgment upon the wicked, not upon Christ's own.
Isa 32:20 Blessed
are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.
Historically, this referred to the people in Judea eventually having joy and
sowing their crops in peace. Sowing beside all waters alludes to the sowing
of seed by casting it into waters and when the waters subsided the seed
would be sunk into the mud, and the ox and ass would be used to tread it in.
When Christ's future reign on earth begins, the
fields will be sown and crops harvested. Ezekiel 47 and Revelation 22 tell
us some about that great River which will run through the area of Jerusalem,
feeding and healing the earth, with the tree of life on either side of it.
Blessed are those that do God's Commandments, because they will have right
to the Tree of Life (Rev.22:14).
Peace to you in Christ Jesus,
Dave Ramey
