Isaiah 30:1 - 30:33
Our
Heavenly Father's Message of how His People allow themselves to be deceived by following
other things instead of Him and His Word continues. In Isaiah 29 His warning was upon
Jerusalem for following falseness. In this 30th Chapter, God gives a woe to the rebellious
who trust in themselves, or in a lying spirit, or the things of this world, instead of
relying on His Counsel within His Word. This is a long Bible study, as God gives us a
whole lot of spiritual meat to chew on in this Isaiah 30 Chapter, so let's get started, as
we ask a Word of wisdom from our Heavenly Father in Christ Jesus' Precious Name, Amen.
Isa
30:1 "Woe to the rebellious children," saith the LORD,
"that take counsel, but not of Me; and that cover with a covering, but not of My
spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
Again, recall the covering of "kerchiefs" and "pillows"
of Ezekiel 13 which men's traditions cause over the eyes and minds of God's People. Those
ignorant religious leaders were referred to as "women" that do the
metaphorical sewing of coverings over believer's minds, casting the "strong meat"
of God's Word away, and replacing It with something else. If they do not seek God's
counsel by His Spirit, as our Lord says here, then of which 'spirit' do they listen? Not
heeding God's Word, Chapter by Chapter and line by line, is how the sins of His People
really pile up today. That other spirit is the spirit of antichrist (1 John 4:3). There is
no third or middle choice of which spirit to listen to. Either we listen to God's Counsel
by His Spirit, or we default to the spirit of antichrist. And that lying spirit of
antichrist will bring upon the deceived a state of confusion (Babel). A state of confusion
is how sin upon sin continues in ignorance.
One of the main false doctrines which our Lord mentioned
in Ezekiel 13:17 forward from those false coverings, is that of the 'fly away' doctrine.
Many default to that false doctrine of flying away to escape the coming great tribulation
because simply, they have not put on God's Covering of Knowledge from His Word. The
apostle Paul explained the Gospel Armour as the true Covering from our Lord, per Ephesians
6. To put on the "whole armour of God" (Eph.6:11>) is so that a
believer on Christ will be able to make a stand in the "evil day",
which is the latter days of tribulation by a false messiah. If you have been studying with
me, it is my hope in Christ that you are coming into God's Covering of Knowledge within
His Word. Therein we rest in the Victory of Christ through His Word, and That Rest in
Christ Jesus is not of me, nor of any man.
Isa
30:2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at My
mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of
Egypt!
Historically, Hoshea at Samaria, a king over the "house of Israel" (ten
tribes) during the time of Ahaz king of Judah, did give presents to the king of Assyria
while seeking Egypt's help to fight against the Assyrian (2 Kings 17). The king of Assyria
discovered the plot, and then came upon the capital city of the ten tribes named Samaria.
That event began part of the ten tribe's captivity to the cities of the Medes (north of
Babylon), being taken out of the northern lands of old Israel. And those historical events
are a type for the latter days. The difference is of today's "house of Israel"
(ten tribes of the western Christian nations) going into deception by the latter day type
for the Assyrian, which is a symbol for the antichrist (see Isaiah 14:12 forward). The
"house of Judah" at Jerusalem during Jeremiah's day also tried to
enlist Pharaoh's help against the king of Babylon (Jer.37). They suffered a captivity to
Babylon around 130 years after the ten tribes were taken away.
This is also a blueprint for the latter day working of
false messiah and his servants against both houses of Israel. Both the "house of
Judah" in Jerusalem, and the "house of Israel" in the western
Christian nations are under this blueprint from their old history. The one-world
globalists are continually trying to make peace pacts among the nations around Jerusalem
today in preparation for the final "strong delusion" (2 Thess.2). We
know from Revelation 13 and 17 that God has ordained the "strong delusion"
of a one-world "beast" system upon all nations for the latter days. The
historical events given through Isaiah the prophet are overlays for events occurring in
the area of Jerusalem today.
Isa
30:3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the
trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
4 For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
5 They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them,
nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach."
"Zoan" means 'the place of departure' (BDB-6814). It was an
ancient city in Lower Egypt existing before Abraham's day, and was the old capital of the
Shepherd King dynasty. It was where Pharaoh later dwelt at the time of God leading Israel
out of Egypt.
The analogy is of how GOD led Israel to safety out of Egypt
through His servant Moses, and not of Pharaoh. Trust in God, not man, is the Message. How
soon Israel has forgotten that God led His People to safety, and not by any other. So
don't depend upon any 'system' of man today for your Salvation. Depend directly upon our
Heavenly Father through His Son Jesus Christ. He is our Rest, and His Word declares It.
Isa
30:6 The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of
trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery
flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their
treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.
Our
Heavenly Father is referring back in Israel's history to several past events where His
People were rebellious. He sent fiery serpents upon the people when they rebelled against
Him through His servant Moses (Numbers 21). Per Isaiah 46, the asses were heavily burdened
by idols of Baal being carried around by them, when those idols are nothings, and cannot
save. The presents sent to the historical Assyrian to try and prevent his army from coming
upon Israel didn't help either. The Message is to put our trust in The Father through His
Son. His Rest is the only true Rest and Salvation. (Recall what the name 'Isaiah' means -
'Yah is Salvation').
Isa
30:7 For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose:
therefore have I cried concerning this, "Their strength is to sit still."
The
strength of Egypt was to sit still and offer no help. Our Father is letting us know how He
feels about those religious leaders who sew the coverings over His People's minds, causing
the confusion of Baalism. He is comparing historical Egypt as linked with Baal's false
prophets, and thus with the type of religious leaders today who sew the false coverings in
place of His Word. And that is the false system of instruction which many of Israel had
turned to then, and which many of them are still under today.
Recall that Jeroboam, the first king over the house of
Israel, setup the golden calf worship in the northern land of Israel, and raised base men
of the priests of Baal over the northern ten tribes (2 Chron.13). Even after Christ Jesus
came and died on the cross, and the scattered ten tribes of the house of Israel in the
West began to finally come out of Baalism, they never completely succeeded in riding
themselves of all the Baal prophets and traditions of Baal. The LORD wants us to
understand within this Chapter how such false prophets still exist today, operating like
wolves in sheep's clothing, doing much of the misleading of His People. This is what He
means with those among His People "that cover with a covering, but not of My
Spirit" (Isa.30:1).
In reality, those false prophets can't do anything but sit
still with their mouths open while money is thrown at them. They don't have God's
Blessings of His Word in order to properly teach It. And if your teachers don't properly
cover God's Word line by line, then how will you learn to receive God's Blessings? You'll
wind up with those false prophets whose power is to sit still, without God's Blessings,
and depending upon a false covering of deception instead.
Isa
30:8 Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a
book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
9 That this is a rebellious People, lying children, children that
will not hear the law of the LORD:
Now, for how we as individual believers are responsible in keeping to God's Word, instead
of heeding the prophets of Baal (confusion). False teachers would have no chance to be
heard unless many of the people wanted it so. Many of our brethren make their own 'choice'
when they allow themselves to be diverted from God's Word, and instead listen to the
traditions of men which make God's Word null and void. When believers heed false teachers
that say Christ nailed all of God's Law to His cross, that makes many think they are free
to do almost anything, as long as they repent afterwards when they begin to feel guilty.
Christ can cover all manner of sin (Matt.12:31), but His Covering is no excuse to do sin
(Hebrews 6). Such false attitudes allow sin to be piled on top of sin, and that's the
situation which that false covering mentioned in Isaiah 30:1 creates. This is why our
Father cited those beasts of burden that carry the riches and idols to try and supplant
His Covering. His Word is how we receive His Covering; by understanding His Word and
following His Law within His Commandments, Judgments, and Statutes is how we do that (see
Matthew 19; Romans).
Isa
30:10 Which say to the seers, "See not;" and to the
prophets, "Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy
deceits:
Many of God's People say, "Don't preach to us right things, but sooth our ears with
smooth sayings; let us know we're doing real good." Some Church systems will not
allow all of God's Word to be taught to the congregation, because of fear of losing many
members, or because of Church leader's fear of losing their retirement pensions. That in
itself is proof of this Isaiah verse, that many believers simply do not want to hear God's
Truth full strength. The strength of man's systems today are in its number of members. But
in Christ's Church, He is The Foundation and Strength Which the members become joined into
(Eph.4). Which will last eternally, men's systems, or Christ's Foundation? (1 Cor.3). So
if you aren't being fed The Word in this line by line method by your Church, shouldn't you
be asking why? (see Isaiah 28 again).
Isa
30:11 Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause
the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us."
Our
Heavenly Father is mocking believers who really are not in Church to 'hear' God's Word
with understanding. If those don't want to get down to discipline in His Word, then their
laziness or rebelliousness creates their predicament; in that attitude their status is
they don't want to listen to Him! With those, where does their trust default to? It
defaults to man and his systems which the power of those systems is to spiritually sit
still. A warning for not putting our faith and trust in our LORD but instead turning to
other things, is how this Chapter's Message through Isaiah began.
And our Heavenly Father's answer to their attitude...
Isa
30:12 Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, "Because
ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
Because those do not want to hear God's Word line upon line, and would rather trust in man
or man's systems, which means oppression and perverseness...
Isa
30:13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to
fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.
...therefore, the false wall of men's systems, which those put their trust in instead of
our Father as our True Wall (Zech.2:5), will be like a weakened wall that's ready to
tumble down at the slightest trembling. That "breach" of a false
foundation will come down when our Lord Jesus appears (Heb.6; Heb.12; Ezek.13). (Do a
concordance study on that "wall" metaphor to learn more on how this
"high wall" which the false prophets build is going to crash down).
Isa 30:14
And He shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that
is broken in pieces; He shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting
of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the
pit."
God
is saying that He is going to break the system traditions of men that create a covering
over His Word to His People like a clay pot shattered into microscopic pieces. There won't
even be found a small enough "sherd" (clay piece) to dip water out of a
well with. Our Heavenly Father is angry at those who hide His Word from His People who
love Him. And that's exactly what the system traditions of men do. A Bible verse here, and
a Bible verse there; no wonder so many believers are Biblically illiterate today! What
good is a huge building for believers on The Savior
to gather in if it is full of
spiritually dead bones as a result of The Word of God not being taught there? Our Lord
Christ is going to bring the falseness down, and anything not built upon His spiritual
Foundation won't stand in that Day.
This metaphor of the breaking of the potters' vessel is
included especially with the second coming of our Lord Christ, to rule with a rod of iron.
Some just skip over that coming event of our Lord Jesus requiring a rod of iron when He
returns, because many think the false ones are all going to be destroyed at His return.
Recall that every knee shall bow to The Savior
Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:9-11; Romans
14:11; Isaiah 60:9 forward). Let's turn to Psalms 2 to discover a bit of this wrath from
God upon the false ones who oppress His People:
Ps
2:6 Yet have I set My king upon My holy hill of Zion.
7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto Me, "Thou art
My Son; this day have I begotten Thee.
8 Ask of me, and I shall give Thee the heathen for Thine inheritance,
and the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession.
The
KING Jesus Christ Yahshua Messiah will sit upon The Father's Holy Hill of Zion, upon this
earth. That will not be man's flesh version of Zion, but our Heavenly Father's Zion Which
comes down to earth out of the Heavenly dimension (Zech.14; Rev.21).
This word "heathen" is the Hebrew word
'gowy' meaning the Gentile nations. They are part of Christ's inheritance also,
and they will still include the wicked among them bowing the knee to Christ (1 Corinthians
15:22-28; Acts 24:15; Rev.20:5; Rev.3:9).
Ps 2:9
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in
pieces like a potter's vessel."
That "rod of iron" will be necessary upon the wicked to institute
discipline by Christ when He returns. Clearly these events of Isaiah have not occurred yet
to our day. While the pillow coverings of the traditions of men are teaching many to
believe in the falseness of flying away up in the clouds, where do you think those will
really be when this "rod of iron" event occurs?
God presented many metaphors in His Word in such a way
that they can be easily misunderstood without disciplined Bible study. As our Lord said,
"Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and
whosoever hath not, from him shall taken even that which he seemeth to have."
(Luke 8:18). By interpretation, that means if we stay in God's Word by His Spirit, we will
know how to discern His Truth from Satan's lies. The false one's lies will take God's Word
out of our mind and heart if we allow it, and that is how the false covering works.
Those who think to physically escape the great
tribulation, and teach their congregations to do so, simply haven't disciplined themselves
line by line in God's Word enough to realize who that escape metaphor is upon (1 Thess.5;
Luke 21:34-36, Christ's Message of His who escape, is of escaping the temptation of the
"snare" that will indeed take many by surprise. His Covering is not a
physical escaping, but a spiritual escaping of the coming deception by a pseudo messiah
(Greek of Matthew 24:24). If you understand the "times and the seasons"
of Christ's coming which Paul referred to at the start of 1 Thessalonians 5, then you will
not be tempted by the false messiah who comes first. See the Seven

Isa 30:15
For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; "In
returning and rest shall ye be
saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be
your strength: and ye would not.
In
returning to our Heavenly Father Yahveh through His Son Jesus Christ in "confidence"
(faith), is The True Rest (Sabbath), for He is That Eternal Rest Which cannot be shaken
(Matt.11:27-30; Ps.116:6-9; Isaiah 11:10; Isaiah 28:12-13; Jer.6:16; 2 Thess.1:7-8; Heb.3
& 4; Heb.12:26-29). "Well, how do we return to The Father, and receive that
'confidence' in Him?" The answer is, by staying in His Word of Truth (2 Timothy
2:15).
Per John 1 Christ also is The Word. In His Word is our
Rest for this flesh time, and evermore. Why is that for today also? Because through
disciplined study in His Word we learn His Will for us, and are taught what the future
will bring, and how to prepare for it. Listening to His Word does not 'only' prepare us to
believe on The Father through His Son's crucifixion on the cross. Believers are also
offered The Knowledge of Christ so as to prepare to make a stand for Him, having His Rest
in us through faith. No man can prepare a believer to make that stand of giving a
Testimony of Jesus Christ (Eph.6; Rev.12:17; Rev.19:10). Only our Lord by The Holy Spirit
can do that. Want an example of how His Word by His Spirit does that, preparing in "confidence"
and "quietness"?
One of the deeper Truths from our Lord's Word is that of
the first earthly age when God originally created all things perfect, and there was no
sin, no rebellion, and our souls had no need for a flesh vehicle to walk and live upon
this earth, which was then a literal Garden of Eden over all of it (see my Genesis studies). There have been fossil remains of tropical
vegetation and animal life discovered at the poles to verify that previous perfect
condition of this earth. There even exists fossil records of perfect human footprints
dating back to approximately 10 million years ago, discovered alongside dinosaur
footprints (Dinosaur State Park, Glenrose, Tx.). With the evidence of those fossil
records, isn't it easier to grasp what God's future Eternity will be like upon this earth,
and also easier to realize that the angelic body state is how God intended us to live all
along? (Matt.22:30). So what else is this flesh time but a temporary stop in time of God's
Eternity, to discover who wants to keep going with Him forever, and who does not?
And who can discover such magnificent Truths from our Lord
directly within His Word? Will those who follow the traditions of men stumble upon such
deeper Truths? Can they come to know in their soul, and begin to remember the first
original formation of the earth which the apostle Paul taught of in Romans 8? ("creature"
and "creation" in the Greek). Will they understand that this earth also
was placed in a state of temporary "bondage" just as our souls were
during today's second earthly age? (Romans 8:20-23 with the word "creature",
which means 'original formation' in the Greek - Strong's 2937):
Rom
8:19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the
manifestation of the sons of God.
20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by
reason of Him Who hath subjected the same in hope,
21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage
of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
In
this Knowledge of Christ from His Word, how does such Truth give us patience, confidence
(faith), and true peace during these days? For those whose spiritual eyes The LORD has
opened, they understand those deeper Truths are of His Rest Which protects us from fear
which others experience, simply because those who haven't studied for themselves stumble
at the same Word. By this understanding He gives, His are given to make a stand for Him
today, solidly in peace and confidence, having His Word in their minds and hearts (i.e.
being sealed with God's seal; Rev.9). Such Truth is Christ's Foundation which cannot be
shaken. It means you are aware of the beginning, and the ending of God's Plan of Salvation
for this flesh age. With such a Foundation to make a stand, no wonder the apostle Paul
declared that nothing shall separate us from the love of God through His Son Christ Jesus!
(Romans 8:33-39).
Yet those who would rather follow after men's systems,
being snared by the outward appearance of righteousness, instead of getting understanding
in God's Word by His Spirit, will not hear.
Isa
30:16 But ye said, 'No; for we will flee upon horses;' therefore
shall ye flee: and, 'We will ride upon the swift;' therefore shall they that pursue you be
swift.
17 One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at
the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain,
and as an ensign on an hill."
God's People sought help in the force of their own strength when the king of Babylon and
Chaldeans came upon them with swift horses (Habakkuk 1). Our Lord's Book of Revelation
mentions an end time Babylon system again (Rev.17 through 18). The fleeing upon horses for
the Revelation "beast" time, is to try and escape the coming of the
latter day king of Babylon and his troop (Satan as the "dragon", and
his locust army; Rev.9; 12 & 13). So the Message here is of those who do not stay in
God's Word for the latter days, but seek to escape the coming events instead. Only those
not sealed with God's seal of Truth in their minds ("foreheads"), are
Satan's locust army of false priests allowed to deceive ("sting", it's
of deception through lies). Such is the result for those who deny The Word saying "No;
for we will flee upon horses".
This "left as a beacon upon the top of a
mountain", and "as an ensign", is figurative for a stripped
bare pole standing alone on a hill, put as a warning for others to beware, and not go that
way. God prefers that we be as a healthy green tree planted by the waters (Jer.17:7
forward). Remember back in Isaiah 2:22 where God said to "Cease ye from man,
whose breath is in his nostrils; wherein is he to be accounted for?" That means
to quit listening to men, and get understanding directly from God through The Holy Spirit
for yourself. (These Bible studies are for me also, so don't think that I know everything;
I do not. I am setting the example for you to learn 'how' to get into God's Word in study
for yourself by His Guidance. I can't seal It in your mind for you, only Christ can do
that.)
Isa 30:18
And therefore will the LORD wait, that He may be gracious unto
you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is
a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him.
Our
LORD has His own appointed time for His Son's return. He is waiting for that moment in
Holy patience, just as we should wait for Him also. Do you know the "times and
seasons" of our Lord's return so as to wait for Him? No man knows the day or
hour of our Lord Christ's return, but He did reveal the events leading up to His return,
which are those "times and seasons" (Matt:24; Mark 13; Luke 21; Rev.6).
Remember the apostle Paul saying to those at Corinth that he desires to present them, and
us, to Christ as a "chaste virgin", not being deceived by the wicked
one as Eve was? (2 Cor.11). We just covered the 'hasty fruit' Message back in a previous
Isaiah Chapter. Christ's own are not to be hasty fruit, seeking to fly away to escape,
becoming spiritually unchaste virgins, but instead are to wait upon Him. And that means to
know the season of His coming, and patiently wait for it. (Summer harvest metaphor - see
the Seven Signs Bible studies).
Isa 30:19
For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep
no more: He will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when He shall hear
it, He will answer thee.
20 And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the
water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but
thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, "This is
the way, walk ye in it," when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the
left.
The
time setting here is in Christ's future "thousand years" reign upon the
earth (Rev.20; Ezek.40-48). During that future time, God will set proper Pastors over His
People to teach those who went astray (see Jer.3, which is yet future during Christ's
reign). We learned from previous Isaiah Chapters that the spiritual eyes and ears of many
today will not be opened in understanding until that future time. Many simply do not have
a chance at 'hearing' Christ's deeper Truths during this flesh age which prepare His
election against the coming deception (Matt.13:11 forward). Howbeit, those deeper Truths
in God's Word must still go forth today, for the sake of those who are given 'eyes to see,
and ears to hear'.
Isa
30:22 Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of
silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a
menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, "Get thee hence."
During that future time after Christ's return, the deceived will turn away from the false
covering that's upon many today. They will throw the coverings of men's traditions down
like a dirty "menstruous cloth".
Isa
30:23 Then shall He give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow
the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and
plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.
24 The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat
clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.
This Scripture is the result of staying in God's Word with understanding. It allows His
Blessings to flow upon you, your family, and even upon your works for Him. How can our
Heavenly Father bless us and answer our prayers if we deny Him and His Word, and instead
follow systems of this world? Cast that old "menstruous cloth" of
escapism from the systems of men away, and come to The Father personally through His Son
Jesus Christ. Become a servant for His spiritual Church, and the earthly Church you go to
will be better for it. But first, get understanding in His Word.
Isa 30:25
And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high
hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the
towers fall.
You'll discover an example of God's River Which will flow out from under His Throne on
earth in the future per Ezekiel 47 and Revelation 22. Those are the Waters of Life which
will help renew this earth. They will be literal Waters upon the earth emitting from His
Holy Hill of Zion. This event is still future, if you haven't realized it yet.
After the final world "beast" kingdom
towers of the latter day Babylon system fall at Christ's return, then these Waters will
flow upon the earth. That latter day Babylon system will be over all nations and peoples
of the world (Rev.13 & 17), and its spiritual center will be in today's flesh
Jerusalem (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4; Rev.11).
Isa 30:26
Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun,
and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that
the LORD bindeth up the breach of His People, and healeth the stroke of their wound.
This verse is going even farther in the future, past Christ's thousand years reign after
His return. This is the setting up of the new heavens and a new earth, per Isaiah 65:17
and 2 Peter 3:13. That future time will be when God cleanses this earth and renews it,
putting the earth back into its perfect 'original formation', where no disease exists, nor
foul weather storms or volcanic eruptions and earthquakes, nor areas of desert wastes or
icy tundra, but an even temperature around the whole earth, so that all there will look
and say, "...This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and
the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited."
(Ezek.36:33-36). God said He did not create the earth "in vain" (Hebrew
'tohuw', translated "without form" in Genesis 1:2 and Jeremiah 4:23).
He "formed it to be inhabited" (Isaiah 45:18).
Isa 30:27
Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with
His anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: His lips are full of indignation, and
His tongue as a devouring fire:
This is the "last trump" event the apostle Paul spoke of (1 Cor.15:52).
That also is the seventh angel sounding of Revelation 11:15 when our Lord Christ Jesus
will return to this earth (Zechariah 14). All alive on earth in the flesh at that time
will be 'changed' instantly, "in the twinkling of an eye" (1
Cor.15:52).
For those in Christ, this event is the consuming fire of
The Holy Spirit from GOD Which is His Covering over us. To fear It is to be in ignorance
of GOD as a Spirit (John 4:24), for It is Christ's two-edged Sword Which will cut down all
lies and falsehoods, and devour those works off this earth which are not built upon His
Foundation. His Spirit is both a literal Fire, and a Spiritual Fire, for "God is
a consuming fire" (Hebrews 12:29).
God's spiritual example of this event is written for us in
Daniel 3, with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego being cast into the hot fiery furnace
heated 'seven times' greater than necessary. Nebuchadnezzar looked over into that fiery
furnace and saw a fourth Man along side Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Our Lord Christ
Jesus was that fourth Man with them, and they were not harmed. Their clothes didn't even
smell of smoke when they came out of that hot fiery furnace. Our Lord promised that He
would never forsake nor leave us if we do not forsake Him (Deut.4:31; 2 Chronicles 15:2).
Christ Jesus is 'Immanuel' 'God with us'. So we have no reason to fear this event, as long
as we put our trust in Him.
But the false servants of the king of Babylon (Satan's
future role) were incinerated just being near the hot fiery furnace (applies to Satan's
fallen angels which are to be destroyed at Christ's coming - the "seven thousand"
of Rev.11:13). Those angel servants of Satan are booted out of heaven down to this earth
in our near future, and then properly stomped when Christ does return (Rev.12:7 forward; 2
Thess.2:8 ; Rev.11:13).
Isa 30:28
And His breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the
midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be
a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.
This word "breath" is Hebrew 'ruwach', meaning His Spirit. Many people
are to have this spiritual "bridle" in their jaws to cause them to
stray until Christ returns. After Christ returns, that bridle becomes His 'rod of iron' to
rule over these who refused Him and His Word of Truth. As we learned in Isaiah 29:24 for
the future time of Christ's reign, "They also that erred in spirit shall come to
understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine."
Isa
30:29 Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy
solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the
mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
But
for you beloved, who love The Father and The Son, there will be given gladness of heart
and joy, as one who leads with the horn, to be gathered to The Holy One in Mount Zion.
The phrase of "as in the night when a holy
solemnity is kept", refers to GOD's Passover Lamb. Christ Jesus became our
Passover sacrificed for us (1 Cor.5:7). Therefore, just as the children of Israel were
passed over in the night by the death angel in Egypt, so also Christ Jesus is become our
Passover for the future time of God's wrath upon the wicked. That's why we have nothing to
fear during this coming event, and certainly have no need to try and escape. Recall that
Moses warned the people to not go out of their houses that night to try and escape
(Exod.12:21 forward). To attempt to flee meant suffering God's wrath along with the
Egyptians. So what doctrinal tradition of man today teaches many to fly away to escape
this event of God's consuming fire?
Isa
30:30 And the LORD shall cause His glorious voice to be heard, and
shall shew the lighting down of His arm, with the indignation of His anger, and with
the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and
hailstones.
This future event of our LORD's coming is closely linked to how He led the children of
Israel out of Egypt, parting the Red Sea for them to go over, with the host of Pharaoh
drowning in the sea. In Exodus 15 you'll find a description of those past events in
Israel's history with Moses and the people singing a song of triumph unto The LORD for His
Great Working of those events. All those events of historical Israel being led into the
Holy Land serve as a 'blueprint' for the future event of God's consuming fire, and
gathering of His saints to His Zion.
The LORD through Isaiah is comparing these past few verses
of Isaiah 30 to those historical events of His Passover, and leading the children of
Israel out of Egypt and then to the Promised Land. Look closely again at Exodus 15 within
that song. Beginning at Exodus 15:14 through 18, that is the second time of God leading
His children to Zion. Those particular Exodus 15:14-18 verses have not
happened yet. They are for this time our Lord is speaking of here in Isaiah, when He will
lead His children who accept His New Testament Passover Jesus Christ, back to the Promised
Land, in final for the Eternity. Notice in Exodus 15:15 that the "dukes of Edom"
and the inhabitants of Canaan are mentioned in place of Pharaoh and the Egyptians. Per
Ezekiel 38 & 39, the chief prince of Meshech (Esau-Edom-Idumea-Rosh-of Russia) and his
allies are the ones these "hailstones" of God's wrath are upon, and
that is the battle of Hamongog which God fights for us during the consuming fire event. It
is yet future at Christ's coming. See Jeremiah 23 for another parallel to this same event,
which is still future to us, and occurs when Christ returns.
Isa 30:31
For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian
be beaten down, which smote with a rod.
Remember that the historical Assyrian is a blueprint role for Satan in the latter days? (Isaiah 14). The king of Assyria was used as a rod of correction upon
old Israel when they were rebellious against The LORD. Satan as the "dragon"
of the Book of Revelation serves as that old role of the Assyrian, but for the latter day
tribulation. The first tribulation is by Satan and his; the second tribulation is the cup
of God's wrath upon the wicked. Those in Christ don't have to worry about either
tribulation, because our Lord is with us through both of them.
The "voice of the LORD" is His Spirit
Which these past few Isaiah verses have been declaring, and also is That Two-Edged Sword
of Christ (Rev.1:16). That Sword is how Satan is going to be defeated during the first
tribulation by The Holy Spirit speaking through Christ's election, and then directly by
Christ at His coming (2 Thess.2:8; Matt.24). Satan will then be thrown into prison for the
duration of Christ's thousand years reign (Rev.20).
Isa 30:32
And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass,
which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in
battles of shaking will He fight with it.
This event signals the time when Satan's purpose for this second earthly age will be over,
as he will be locked away in his prison of the pit (Rev.20).
Many do not realize that our Heavenly Father allows Satan
as a rod of correction to get the attention of the rebellious of all families upon the
earth. This is why we have no need to be scared of him. When this event occurs, many will
look over into the 'pit' at him and say...
Isa
14:16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and
consider thee, saying, "Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did
shake kingdoms;
17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities
thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?"
Now
back to Isaiah to complete this Chapter...
Isa
30:33 For Tophet is ordained of old;
yea, for the king it is prepared; He hath made it
deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of
the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
This word "Tophet" means 'a place of fire', and historically
refers to the valley of Hinnom south of Jerusalem, the garbage pit that burned
perpetually. The children of the valley of Hinnom held Molech and Baal worship there,
sacrificing their sons in fire. Our LORD said that such an awful thing as sacrificing
their sons in fire never even entered His Mind (Jer.19:4-6). So that should reveal to us
how He feels about His own children who love Him, when they go through the consuming fire
event change that ends this flesh time. No harm will come to us, His children under Christ
Jesus.
Christ used the word Hinnom to refer to 'hell' in various
Gospel Scriptures (Greek 'geena'). The Message here is that Satan ("the king",
though a fake king) has been condemned to this burning and destruction of "Tophet"
ever since he first rebelled against The LORD (Ezek.28:18). That Wicked has already been
judged and sentenced to perish in the "lake of fire", which is this
"Tophet". That "lake of fire" of Revelation 20:14-15
is not the place of 'hell', for as written, hell is also cast into it and destroyed. GOD's
Spirit from His Breath will do that. And it occurs at the end of this second earthly age,
which also is at the end of Christ's thousand years reign (Rev.20).
Lots of "strong meat" (Heb.5) to chew on within this very excellent
