Isaiah 22:1 - 22:25
The
last Chapter of Isaiah covered a burden upon Babylon (Isa.21:1-12), and another upon
Arabia (Isa.21:13-17), which completed seven burdens upon seven peoples, i.e.
nations. These particular burdens which began with Moab (Isa.15:1), given from
our Father, were to the peoples surrounding Jerusalem around 603-701 B.C., but they are
also given as a type for us today also.
For those who have a Companion Bible1,
see the Scripture structure margin note on page 948 about these burdens. Note
particularly structure "Y", with four burdens being applied to false kingdoms.
Notice the "Valley of Vision" is one of them associated with those other false
kingdoms of Babylon. This burden upon the "Valley of Vision" we will cover
today, as that "Valley" is Jerusalem. And we ask a Word of Wisdom from our
Father in Christ's Precious Name, Amen.
Isa
22:1 The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art
wholly gone up to the housetops?
This "valley of vision" applies to Jerusalem, as we will soon discover
throughout this Chapter. Jerusalem is surrounded by many hills and valleys, and the City
of David rested upon a hilltop. And Jerusalem has ever been the area of many of God's
prophets, who were given a vision by our Father Jehovah. Jerusalem is also the place to
'watch' concerning Biblical prophecy.
This reference to "the housetops" is
about being a watchmen. God commanded in Deut.22:8 to build a "battlement"
on the top of the house, so as to prevent one from falling off the roof. So this is given
as a symbolic warning, as God brought this king of Assyria (Sennacherib) upon
Jerusalem at that time around 603 B.C. (see also Isaiah 8). Our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ also gave this symbolic warning of the 'housetop' in Matthew 24:17. He was really
teaching us to take note of this historical event Isaiah was given as prophecy to
Jerusalem, and then apply it as a type for the latter days also.
It's also interesting to note that Joel 3 refers to
Jerusalem as the "valley of decision", with God's prophecy of the "day
of the LORD" being linked with 'decision', meaning...it's all over at that point
(Joel 3:14). Our Lord and Savior will have returned on the "day of the LORD",
measuring out His decision upon the future one-world Babylon false kingdom, with its head
at Jerusalem (see Matt.24; Mark 13; Luke 21; Rev.11). So in essence here in Isaiah 22, we
are being given the historical type with Jerusalem as the "valley of vision".
And the last final type for the future Babylon will be the "valley of
decision."
The meaning of this 'valley' reference is that
Isaiah 22 is a special warning to Jerusalem, and to the world, for today. It will
cover a type for antichrist coming upon Judea, and also will single out two types of
magistrates who are leaders over Jerusalem. One type of leader is represented by Shebna,
who is of the scribes which crept into the affairs of God's People at Jerusalem, and the
other magistrate or priest, is Eliakim, being a true righteous follower of God.
And it shouldn't be too difficult to apply this analogy God is giving us here between the
two types of leaders, to all nations affected by the eventual future coming of the 'king
of Babylon' (i.e. the antichrist), in stages and by degrees. Looking at the events in
the middleast today, and the controls upon all nations by the super-government, i.e. 'New
World Order', this Isaiah 22 parallel should be easy to grasp, as Jerusalem and the 'house
of Israel' are the last stops on Satan's map to his one-world 'beast' government
system (see Rev.13 & 17).
Isa
22:2 Thou that art full of stirs, a tumultuous city, a joyous city: thy slain men
are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle.
This verse is a metaphor for those who refuse to believe that 'hour' of
destruction is near. They have no true fear of our Father, because they've put their trust
in the world, and those who offer the things of the world to them. Their trust is in
themselves, and not in God. Amos 6 gives an excellent detail of this attitude here, with "Ye
that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;"
(Amos 6:3). Even in 1 Thess.5, "For when they shall say, 'Peace and safety', then
sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall
not escape." (1 Thess.5:3). See also Rev.18:7; 2 Pet.3:4; Matt.24:48-51; Amos
9:9-10.
We are seeing this escapist attitude with many of our
brethren in some of the Churches today, as their Church leaders are in this stupor of 'peace
and safety', and the horn of plenty and prosperity for all. They are not preparing
their flocks for the coming of the final 'king of Babylon', but teach escapist
'fly away' doctrines instead. When they should be putting The Gospel Armour on to make a 'stand',
they are joining with nations for the sake of 'religion', i.e. man's religion, and not
True worship in Christ Jesus by staying in His Word.
Isa
22:3 All thy rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers: all that
are found in thee are bound together, which have fled from far.
The
historical event of this siege upon Jerusalem was of the Assyrian. These leaders of God's
People fled this battle also, just as king Zedekiah fled when the king of Babylon
(Nebuchadnezzar) came upon Jerusalem (2 Kings 25). So what's our parallel in this for
today? What are many of our leaders doing today? When one of our leaders sells out,
because of promises made to him/her of wealth, status, or an easy way out of doing their
'duty', doesn't that symbolize this situation in Isaiah's time as a type for today?
Compromise against God's People by leaders of His People makes it arduous for them to do
anything else but run, once the situation is allowed to escalate. And I don't envy our
leaders, but pray for them, because the deception upon the majority is so strong today,
good leaders must go above and beyond their normal duty to stay aligned with our Father's
Plan. God made it so to show that if they would only turn to Him, in His Truth, then their
load would be made much lighter and easier to carry. It certainly is difficult to be the
only 'sober' one in the midst of a bunch of drunks (that's just a saying, don't
take it literal). But being 'sober' (i.e. strong minded and not deceived) is what
our Lord Christ Jesus expects of us during these times (1 Thess.5:1-5).
Isa
22:4 Therefore said I, "Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour
not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my People."
5 For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of
perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and
of crying to the mountains.
Again, this event Isaiah is being given by God to Jerusalem, truly was history. But don't
fail to see it as a type for our days right now in our times. This "weep
bitterly" and "crying to the mountains" will be the sad state
of many in the future when our True Lord Christ does return. Even those of Rev.6:16 will
say for the mountains to "...'Fall on us, and hide us from the face of Him That
sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb." (Rev.6:16). Why will
many do that when our Savior returns? Because they believed on their false leaders who led
them to worship 'spurious messiah', instead of waiting for our True Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. So what group specifically is that then? Notice Isaiah 22:4 says "the
daughter of my People"? Is that only deceived Jews? No. This prophecy is to both
houses of Israel, and to the nations of the world, as we just covered seven past 'burdens'
upon the peoples. And if you're not aware that the tribes Judah, Benjamin, and Levite only
make up one part of Israel today (i.e. 'house of Judah'), with the remainder of the twelve
tribes still scattered today (i.e. 'house of Israel'), then it's time to get down to a bit
of study in God's Word (see 1 Kings 11 through 2 Kings 18, and the Lost
Tribes studies. Once you've done that, then go check out Hosea 10, as It is a Message
from our Father given to the 'house of Israel', as Ephraim and Samaria are mentioned
there. Ephraim became the lead ruling tribe over the ten tribes of the 'house of Israel',
which later would migrate to Europe and form the Western Christian Nations of today.)
This "day of trouble" is 'Jacob's
trouble' of Jeremiah 30. The verse of Jer.30:9 is yet future to us, as many later
verses in that Chapter are also. So God's Word here in Isaiah 22 is really overlapping and
weaving these historical events with our times for our times today. The parallel for us is
the coming 'abomination of desolation' with a spurious messiah, and then the battle of
Armageddon on the "day of the LORD" (Rev.16:15-21; 2 Thess.2;
Jer.46:10; Acts 2:20; 1 Thess.5:2).
Isa
22:6 And Elam bare the quiver with chariots of men and horsemen, and
Kir uncovered the shield.
7 And it shall come to pass, that thy choicest valleys shall be
full of chariots, and the horsemen shall set themselves in array at the gate.
This Elam ('eternity') and also Kir ('wall, fortress'),
were peoples under the control of Assyria at that time. So instead of God's People
partying it up, and trusting on man's alliances with other nations, they should have been
preparing for battle against this powerful army of the Assyrian by asking God's help. And
don't forget, GOD is The One Who is bringing this Assyrian upon them (Isa.22:5; Isa.10:5).
In 2 Thessalonians 2, you'll discover that GOD is also bringing the false messiah (son
of perdition, i.e. antichrist, Satan) upon us in our future. And all is being done
for today, just like it was here in Isaiah as the type. A good question here for some
would be, did God take any of His People out of that historical tribulation by the
Assyrian and the 'king of Babylon'? All of God's People went through the
captivities of both the Assyrian, and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon (see 2 Kings).
Even God's prophet Isaiah was subject to these events (2 Kings 19:2-20).
If you've not followed this Isaiah study from the start,
then go back, especially covering Isaiah 14 to get up to date here. God linked Lucifer
to this 'Assyrian' and to 'the king of Babylon' in Isaiah 14 (note
Isa.14:4; 14:25; 14:12). So the Assyrian came through the house of Israel's capital city
Samaria where the ten tribes lived in northern Israel first taking them captive, and then
finally made it down to Jerusalem in the south of Israel. This Chapter is a prelude to the
Assyria putting siege to Jerusalem. But the historical 'king of Babylon'
(Nebuchadnezzar) actually took Jerusalem into captivity.
What does this mean for us in the Western Christian
Nations today then? This Chapter of Isaiah 22 as the future type of prophecy, in my
'opinion', is somewhat close to happening today in Jerusalem. The 'house of Israel'
(Christian Nations) can already be compared with the mixing of many peoples of foreign
nations, much as the historical Assyrian did, moving peoples in and out of their conquered
lands to new areas. The historical Assyrian took the ten tribes of Israel captive to
Assyria, and joined them with other captive nations (2 Kings; Ezekiel 6). The erosion of
national sovereignty by joining the global money markets is pulling down national borders
today, creating a joining of nations among the 'house of Israel'. (Can you say European
Union?). Never forget that a global one-world government to include 'all'
nations together, is Lucifer's main political-economic goal, which will be the future
symbolic resurrected Babylon world empire (Rev.13-19; Daniel 7-12). The historical type
was ancient Assyria, and then Babylon of Daniel the prophet's time, then the Medo-Persia
empire, the Greek empire under Alexander, and the Roman empire under the Caesars,
but...all rolled into one this time; a "diverse" 'beast' from all those
before it (see Dan.7; Rev.13; 17; 18; 19). While many are looking for 'all out war', this
one-world 'beast' system is pulling together as 'one', with the United Nations as
the 'seat' of the controllers, preparing for 'Peace and safety' (1
Thess.5). "And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast:
and they worshipped the beast, saying, 'Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make
war with him?'" (Rev.13:4; see also the Deadly Wound
study).
Isa
22:8 And he discovered the covering of Judah, and thou didst look in that day
to the armour of the house of the forest.
A
forest as 'armour' doesn't afford much protection friend, even a wooden fortress. God is
supposed to be our 'Covering', our 'Canopy' of Protection (Ps.105:39). But Judah and many
of God's People had made their covering 'the house of the forest', and trusted in
a false cedar (Lucifer), turning to idols of wood and stone. God warned us long ago what
He would do to us for that sin (Deut.28:36; 64; Ezek.20:32). If you'll remember back to
Isaiah 8:19, they were trusting in 'wizards', familiar spirits, and
peepers, i.e. false prophets. They are the same type of false prophets and magicians which
God shamed by His servant Moses in Egypt (Exod.7-10).
Isa
22:9 Ye have seen also the breaches of the city of David, that they are many:
and ye gathered together the waters of the lower pool.
10 And ye have numbered the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses have ye
broken down to fortify the wall.
11 Ye made also a ditch between the two walls for the water of the old
pool: but ye have not looked unto the maker thereof, neither had respect unto Him That
fashioned it long ago.
These verses verify that this "burden" (oracle) is upon Jerusalem.
These examples of their vain preparations show that no matter how much one prepares for
battle, or thinks to win in their own mind, that if God has not blessed it and it's not
His Will, then it will not happen. These thought to worship their 'own' works, and not
God.
I hear many misapply 1 John 5:14 as to our prayers being
answered also. They most often leave off a very important condition of prayer being
answered by The Father through The Son. What we pray for must first be in God's Will, for
it to be granted. If it's not, then He will not 'hear' it. So how do we know what we pray
for is His Will for us or not? Those who study His Word for themselves have a definite
advantage in knowing that over those who do not study. Learning and understanding His Word
is how we know to be in His Will. By these Old Testament examples of His People, aren't
they still object lessons for us today? Learn then, how God's People of the past fell out
of His Will, such as Judah did here in Isaiah 22, as many of both 'houses' still do today.
Look upon GOD as The Maker, and not man's hands, nor the wizards who lead man astray to
false worship.
Isa
22:12 And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to
mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:
13 And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating
flesh, and drinking wine: "let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die."
This 'baldness' and 'weeping' shows a state of lamentation, even as Job
would tear his garment and shave his head in his time of trouble (Job 1:20). Job did not
lay blame upon God for his sufferings. There's the difference. But this type here in
Isaiah, many of them have even fallen into Satan's role of false accuser, heeding the
world's lies in curses against God (Rev.12:10). How so? Recall those of Rev.16:9 whom God
punishes on the fourth vial, who also refuse to repent, but "blasphemed the name
of God" instead? We also covered this event back in Isaiah 8:18-22 about those
of God's children which listen to the "wizards that peep, and that mutter".
The very same "accuser of our brethren", i.e., Satan, wishes for us to
believe that God creates and does evil upon us. God will remove His Protection from those
who refuse Him allowing persecution, but He is not the one who does the evil.
The Book of Job is a lesson for the blasphemy of those who
would cause us to think God creates evil, just because He also created Lucifer (see
Ezekiel 28). Through the majority of the Book of Job, his three buddies tried to get him
to admit sin which they thought caused his sad state of trouble. The only thing our
Heavenly Father did, was to allow Satan to tempt Job, temporarily removing His Hand of
Protection over His servant (Job 1:8-12; Job 2:1-9). God knew Job belonged to Him, and
thus would not turn from our Father, nor curse Him for his period of testing. And even
Satan tempted Job using his own wife (Job 2:9). Then came 'three friends' of
Job's, to come mourn with him (Job 2:11; look up their names in your Strong's. They really
aren't Job's kind of people). About thirty six Chapters later, and Job still had not
cursed God while listening to the flesh philosophers, whom Satan used to tempt him. And
then God restored all to Job, and then some.
So how is Job's example important for this Isaiah 22
Chapter? God did not do the persecution of Job; He allowed the 'wicked one' and his false
servants to do it. And instead of Job cursing God, Who created all things, including
Lucifer, Job cursed the 'state' of his flesh, the imperfection of all flesh, man's wisdom,
and the rudiments of 'this world' which Lucifer has been given rule over (Luke 4; Job
3-37; 2 Pet.3). Job cursed this flesh age of Lucifer's doing. All the blame was laid upon
Lucifer and his order. Job never turned away from God, and when all was said and done, God
restored to Job "twice as much as he had before". God turned it all
around when after Job had "prayed for his friends" (Job 42:10). So it
was Job's friends who were really deceived, thinking they were the owners of God's
True Wisdom, not giving God the credit. The blasphemy and sin was theirs, not Job's. These
of Isaiah 22 are in the same trap, as many still are today, looking everywhere for someone
to rely upon, except our Father through Christ Jesus.
Let's go deeper still.... The events upon Job is our
Father's example that His true followers will often suffer during this time of flesh, and
even then...will 'pray' for the deceived who most often work or allow that suffering (see
Acts 7; verses 59-60). Didn't our Lord tell us to pray for our enemies, and seek to do
good even to those who hate us? (Matt.5:44). And each one of us must find that level of
patience with this evil world, to which we each can deal with. And these here in Isaiah
22:12-13 are partying it up, because they think evil cannot touch them. There are many of
our brethren today who think that the latter days will be a complete downhill ride, as
they are being taught they will be 'raptured' out of here, evil not touching them. Those
have left God's Counsel in His Word by leaving off study from 'all' of His Word.
Therefore, True Counsel and True Wisdom only belongs to God. Man has nothing, nor can do
anything righteous of himself. Our Lord will reveal man's own folly of self-righteousness
at a time least expected, much as a thief in the night. The deception of Job's three
friends is the deception of these here in Isaiah 22, and the deception of many today also.
Isa
22:14 And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, "Surely this
iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts."
God
is speaking through Isaiah here. Many in Jerusalem at that historical time did suffer
death at the hands of the 'king of Babylon'. For our times today, this iniquity
will still not be taken away by Christ until "all" are "changed",
and our Lord has returned to rule with "a rod of iron" (1 Cor.15;
Rev.20). Then all will understand, as there is a resurrection of both the just, and the
unjust (Acts 24:15).
Isa
22:15 Thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, "Go, get thee unto this treasurer,
even unto Shebna, which is over the house, and say,
16 'What hast thou here? and whom hast thou here, that thou hast
hewed thee out a sepulchre here, as he that heweth him out a sepulchre on high, and
that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock?
This Shebna was a 'treasurer' over God's House in this verse, but in 2 Kings
18:18 he was eventually demoted to a "scribe", which was most likely
his original position. The next few verses here in Isaiah will reveal this demotion by
God, as Shebna no doubt historically had caused the false political alliance of Judah with
Egypt against Assyria of that time. In other words, Shebna represents a leader who leads
to destruction those of God's People. This 'Shebna' will even come to symbolize
the followers of Lucifer, his one-world controllers, who creep into God's House and
mislead.
So just "What hast thou here?",
our Heavenly Father is asking them, and us today. "Whom hast thou
here..."?, God asks again. Take notes, for our Father is revealing here
with Sheban one of the 'workers of iniquity', the Kenites, i.e. 'sons of Cain'. The
Kenites were among the scribes who came to Jerusalem to dwell at the town of Jabez
in southern Judea (1 Chron.2:55). Make no mistake this warning from God about the Kenites
who creep in still applies for us today. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ even warned all
peoples about them also (Matt.23). And this Shebna's name in the Hebrew means "vigor"
(Strong's no. 7644; BDB definition).
The phrase "hewed him out a sepulchre on
high," refers to false idol worship, in the false 'rock', the king of
Tyrus ('rock'), which also is symbolic of Lucifer. These are some of the
metaphors applied to Lucifer's eventual downfall (see Ezek.28; 31; Isaiah 14). And as I
said before about the one-world order hosts, this Shebna as a type is controlling the
globalists leaders. This is the 'bitter' part of God's Word, which must be taken
also along with the 'sweet' (Rev.10-8-10). So "What hast thou
here?", and "Whom hast thou here,"
with that group? And if you're in a Church which isn't giving this 'warning' from our
Father about the 'Shebna' type, then truly you are being robbed of part of God's
Plan within His Word.
Isa
22:17 Behold, the LORD will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will
surely cover thee.
18 He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball into
a large country: there shalt thou die, and there the chariots of thy glory shall be
the shame of thy lord's house.
This 'cover' God is talking about is not His Covering, but the false covering of
that 'bramble bush', i.e. Satan. And a bramble bush doesn't give much of a shadow
of covering (Luke 6:44; Judges 9:7-15).
The "large country" God is referring to
is about their future captivity to Babylon by the king of Babylon. This applies to our
near future also, but with a spiritual captivity of deception directly by false messiah
(Rev.13; 17; 18; 19; 9). For our future, this false covering is upon all peoples of all
nations who fall as prey by worshipping false messiah, instead of waiting for our True
Lord Jesus Christ.
Isa
22:19 And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall He pull
thee down.'
The
false leaders, including the deceived leaders of God's People who put their faith and
trust upon the false 'rock', i.e. false messiah and his false 'beast'
kingdom, will be driven from their high 'station', by our Heavenly Father. Just
as God took His Protecting Hand away from Job, the 'Assyrian', the 'king of Babylon', the
'spurious messiah', is how this pulling down will be done.
For God's People who are aware of the false 'rock',
and its workers, and also make a 'stand' giving a Testimony for Christ Jesus,
what is there to worry about? Absolutely nothing, as long as we stay in Christ Jesus
(Eph.6). The deception is not upon those who are given to recognize that false 'rock'
and his operators. Understanding God's Word in this Shebna matter is a Gift from our
Father through Christ Jesus. We do not understand that Message of our own selves; it must
come from God's Spirit dwelling in us. That means 'you', if you've truly understood this
study in Isaiah, for you already know from God's Word just how the deception will come
upon the world. Plant a seed of God's Truth as you're able, for our feelings of worry and
bitterness in our groins is because of the deception upon many of our brethren. If they
will not spiritually 'hear', then know God has 'blinded' them for their own good
(Rom.11). Trusting in God through Christ Jesus today is to know these trials coming upon
the world are part of our Father's Plan, and that they are necessary, showing His Supreme
Power, Glory, Authority, and Righteousness over all, over the 'wicked one' and his false
workers especially.
Isa
22:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call My
servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy
girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the
inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
God
is going deeper with this analogy between 'Shebna'...and now with this 'Eliakim'
which is "God sets up" in the Hebrew (Strong's no. 471; BDB def.). And
the father of Eliakim is Hilkiah, which in the Hebrew is "my portion is
Jehovah" (Strong's no. 2518; BDB def.).
So we are now given a contrast between a servant of the
false 'rock' Lucifer with Shebna, as compared to a true servant of The Almighty God with
Eliakim. Which one will you follow?
Thus our Father is going to send to Judah here, and to
Jerusalem, a true servant of The House of God.
Isa 22:22
And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none
shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
If
you've read our Lord and Savior's Words in Revelation 3:7-13, then you know our Lord Jesus
Christ only has control of the "key of the house of David".
Being given to know that 'key' means to know
God's Plan; that through the lineage of David our LORD Jesus Christ would be born, and
knowing the difference between Christ's Family of servants who help God prepare The Way of
Salvation through that 'Seed' of the woman, vs. the false servants of Lucifer who
try and work against That Perfect Plan of God (Gen.3:15; Rev.12:1-5; Gen.37). So this
analogy between Shebna and Eliakim extends also to Christ Jesus as becoming our KING, and
the "government" shall be upon HIS Shoulder (Isaiah 9). These are the
spiritual "keys" our Lord Jesus did give to His Apostle Peter to build
His Church upon, Which is upon The Rock, "our
Rock" Jehovah through His Son Christ Jesus
(Matt.16:18-19). And it is upon That 'Key of David' in The Knowledge of Christ, which all
Churches that hold Christ Jesus dear, must rest! If you have been given that 'key'
by our Lord Jesus, as none else can do so except Him, then none can shut His Truth off
from you. And you can 'open', or 'shut' It, to whom you will in His
Authority. That is the preaching of The True Gospel of Christ, going into the levels of
depth in God's Word, as Paul the apostle also taught (Acts 9:15). And That True Gospel of
Christ begins in the Book of Genesis and continues through the Book of Revelation.
So if you've understood our Father's deeper Message here
in Isaiah 22, then He gave It to you, I didn't. Worship The Father through Christ Jesus
our Savior.
Isa
22:23 And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall
be for a glorious throne to his father's house.
It
should be easier to understand with this verse how It can apply to our Lord and Savior's
coming Rule as KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS upon the earth (Rev.19:16; 20). This "nail
in a sure place" as a perfect symbol, represents Christ Jesus.
In Isaiah's time it represented one of God's true
servants, i.e. 'Eliakim'. And the historical Eliakim may have been another name
for Azariah, a son of Hilkiah who lived during the time of the prophet Isaiah. This
Azariah was a priest of God (2 Chron.15:1-8; 1 Chron.6:13).
Isa
22:24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the
offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to
all the vessels of flagons.'
Our
'Nail'... is Christ Jesus, The Nail fastened in a sure place. That means we have a Perfect
Mediator to our Father, as long as we stay on Him (1 Tim.2:5). All Glory is upon The
Father and The Son. And for this flesh age, if you have The Son Jesus Christ, you also
have The Father (1 John 2:22-25).
Isa
22:25 In that day," saith the LORD of hosts, "shall the nail that is
fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was
upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it."
This particular verse is not about our Lord Christ. It is about the false 'nail'
which wishes to be GOD, i.e. the instead of Christ, the antichrist. It is about false
messiah Lucifer 'standing where it ought not' with the 'abomination of
desolation', in the Temple of God (Mark 13:14; Matt.24; Luke 21; 2 Thess.2; Daniel
7-12). We covered the cutting off and downfall of this false 'nail', back in Isaiah 14.
Very deep ending to this Chapter. Our Father likes to check us out to see if we're paying
attention in His Word. He waited until Chapter 22 to reveal His 'key of David' to
us, by this example of Shebna and Eliakim. Sad how many are told The Old Testament is all
old history, instead of covering prophecy for the future. God truly did say that He tells

Jesus,
