Isaiah 15:1 - 15:9
The
last Chapter 14 of Isaiah revealed much about the future Antichrist coming to this final
flesh generation on the earth. We have been given a very important Message from our Father
how Lucifer is that Assyrian, but not the historical Assyrian of past history, but the
Assyrian of our future, that is also to say, Antichrist. Paul taught us in 1 Cor.10 how
The Old Testament events were 'ensamples' for us today, upon whom the end of this flesh
age comes. That means this study here in The Old Testament is a blueprint for our time
today.
Chapter 15 begins the first of seven 'burdens', which mean
dooms. They begin here with Moab, and end with Tyre in Isaiah Chapter 23. We ask a Word of
Wisdom from our Heavenly Father, in Christ's Name, Amen.
Isa
15:1 The burden of Moab. Because in the night Ar of Moab is laid waste, and
brought to silence; because in the night Kir of Moab is laid waste, and brought
to silence;
Moab was the son of Lot, a Hebrew, and Lot was Abraham's nephew. Moab was born of one of
Lot's daughters. Both daughters plotted to produce sons for their Father Lot, as he was
old. The other daughter of Lot gave birth to Benammi, which became the people of Ammon
(Gen.19). The nation of Moab was east of the Dead Sea, and that's where these cities of
'Ar' and 'Kir' refer to.
The 'burden' is that they are 'laid waste' and cut off.
Isa
15:2 He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab
shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads shall be baldness, and
every beard cut off.
This verse tells us why Moab is cut off and 'laid waste'. 'Bajith' means 'house',
and 'Dibon' (now modern Dhiban) means 'wasting' and was a city in Moab.
These were 'high places' of false worship; that's why they are 'laid waste' in the sense
of Satan's abominations and desolations.
This 'Nebo' means 'prophet', but this one is a
false prophet, as it refers to a Babylonian god, such as Greek Hermes, Latin Mercury, etc.
(Strong's no.5015).
So we are getting a strong clue just why Moab suffered;
they quit following The One True GOD Jehovah. Moab didn't 'weep' to our Father, but to
false gods of vanity, which are no gods.
Isa
15:3 In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth: on the tops
of their houses, and in their streets, every one shall howl, weeping abundantly.
The
'sackcloth' ritual was an outward sign of mourning. That's what following anything and
everything, except The One True Father of all souls through His Son, will cause. Is GOD
responsible for this 'burden'? Absolutely not. They bring it on themselves, as it is
rebellion against our Father.
And just so you'll know, this rebellion can also apply to
'any' religious tradition of man which our Father did not teach or command. So just
because some claim to be a 'house of God' proves nothing. It's Who they follow, and what
is taught there which proves that 'house', whether it be a House of GOD, or a false
temple. Just because some Church systems of men have no idols seen with flesh eyes, or
clearly named 'false gods' such as Nebo there, doesn't mean it's all clear. Our Savior
warned us to beware of the 'leaven' of the scribes and Pharisees. Those represent two
learned groups well versed in The Scriptures. And the people looked up to them, in
ignorance, instead of verifying in God's Word with what they were being taught. It's the
acts the scribes and Pharisees were doing, and what they taught, which is what we
are to beware of today in the Churches.
Isa
15:4 And Heshbon shall cry, and Elealeh: their voice shall be heard even
unto Jahaz: therefore the armed soldiers of Moab shall cry out; his life shall be grievous
unto him.
These city names reveal much when translated. 'Heshbon' means 'stronghold';
'Elealeh' means 'God is ascending, or going up'; and 'Jahaz'
means 'trodden down' (Strong's nos. 2809; 500; 3096; BDB).1
The Message is they are 'trodden down' by
their false worship of vanity, God even removing His Presence from among them.
Again, don't think this false worship applies to Moab
only, as this false worship is clearly apparent among the Western Christian Nations also.
The method may be a little different, such as the 'New Agers' labels and all, but it's the
same thing Moab is doing here in Isaiah. Even the soldier who offers his life for his
people; how do you think they feel when their brethren are following idols and false
prophets when they are sent to war? It's as if laying down their life is worthless for
those who don't appreciate it, doesn't it? If a soldier serving for the U. N. must support
other nations which are atheistic, which abuse their own citizens, how much does that make
the soldier's life worth in Righteousness? That's exactly how many Vets were made to feel
by myriads of their own people after returning from Vietnam! GOD bless those who fought
for our freedom to worship Jehovah through His Son Jesus Christ, and they asked for
nothing in return... and received very little honor from many of their own ignorant and
rebellious generation.
Isa
15:5 My heart shall cry out for Moab; his fugitives shall flee unto
Zoar, an heifer of three years old: for by the mounting up of Luhith with weeping shall
they go it up; for in the way of Horonaim they shall raise up a cry of destruction.
This 'Zoar' means 'insignificance, or smallness'; 'Luhith' is 'tablets',
such as polished stone, metal, or wood; and 'Horonaim' means 'double-cave
town', which ties to the Hebrew root 'chuwr' meaning 'the crevice of a serpent'
(Strong's nos. 6820; 3872; 2773; 2352; BDB). These then are all references to idol
worship, in a big time sense!
The 'red heifer' had to be three years old before it could
be sacrificed, so that's an idiom for 'running for your life' (Gen.15:9). There's another
witness of this state for Moab given in Jeremiah 48. The Message in Jeremiah is about
running scared also, out of fear. But from 'fear' of what?
It's important to understand why God's giving us this
Message about Moab, as He letting us know how it'll be for many during the time of Satan's
tribulation in our near future. These Moabites weren't following our Father; they made
their own gods with the works of their hands. They worshiped their 'own' works, not our
Father Jehovah. So why should GOD even come near them? That's why they run, because they
have misplaced their trust in GOD. They then have good reason to fear as a heifer who just
turns three, because the 'serpent' is right on their tails.
What about those who choose to listen to these false
prophets which teach to worship false vanity? Those people listen to man, and not their
True Father in Heaven and His Christ. Can little words out of their mouths like 'I
believe', with nothing to back it up save them? They don't know what they believe, as they
listen to false prophets gather among the 'high places' like Moab, listening to them, and
not our Father's Word. So they will not recognize the false messiah when he comes, because
they believe on man, not Christ. They let someone else read and understand God's Word for
them. To believe on Christ means to believe His Word, and that means a 'one-on-one'
relationship with God's Word, for Jesus Christ is That Word, and only by reading and
studying and hearing His Word can one really get to know Him. Those who are taught that
all they've got to do is 'just believe, because you're gonna' be gone anyway' are being
prepared to fly away with false messiah. This 'running scared' like a three-year old
heifer who is ready to be sacrificed points to false messiah's three and one half years
tribulation event, shortened to five months for the sake of God's elect (Rev.9; Matt.24).
This Message here in Isaiah 15 is a blueprint to those who are scared of the idea of this
first tribulation, because of listening to false prophets, and not Jehovah. We've already
been given much evidence in the last few Chapters of Isaiah that all will be here through
this first tribulation event. And further along in this Great Book of Isaiah, GOD is going
to let us know that standing in His Knowledge, in Him, during this first tribulation, and
not doing like Moab, means being totally without 'fear'! Our Father is allowing this
tribulation, and He is in control of Satan, so if you're following Christ in His Word,
hey... we have the Victory and know when It is due! Our Father then, is not angry with
those who 'stand' in Him, because we know what's expected of us during the tribulation by
listening to His Word, and most of all, we know He is with us.
Isa
15:6 For the waters of Nimrim shall be desolate: for the hay is withered away,
the grass faileth, there is no green thing.
'Nimrim'
means 'clear waters'. Who is The Pure Waters of Life? GOD is. So these who have
no knowledge in Him, nor trust in Jehovah and His Son during today's times, their once
pure water has become muddy and undrinkable (desolate). The same analogy applies
to their 'bread', which is supposed to be Christ The Bread of Life. The 'green thing',
'hay', and 'grass' in this verse are all symbols for food. Remember Amos 8 where God said
the 'famine' in the end time is not one for literal 'bread' or 'thirst for water', "...but
of hearing the words of The LORD." (Amos 8:11; see also Rev.8:7;
Jer.48:34). This description of a withering is about the 'great apostasy' of God's People.
Isa 15:7
Therefore the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have laid up, shall they
carry away to the brook of the willows.
The
word 'brook' is 'nachal' in the Hebrew meaning 'a narrow valley',
and 'willows' is 'arab' in the Hebrew meaning 'to traffic or
intermix' (Strong's nos. 5158;6155;6148). It can also be translated as 'valley of the
Arabians'.
For today, this refers to all those who are not relying on
our Father and Jesus Christ, but are so busy getting' with all their getting, as if time is
finally running out and they've got to make 'one last try' at wealth before it's all over.
I sense that many who follow the world today, and not GOD, intuitively know that some big
event is about to happen, even though they know not what. And any news happening pointing
to a shortness of this flesh age, and especially someone teaching the latter day events,
appears to send the three year old 'heifers' into a hot frenzy. It's really sad that their
trust is misplaced, keeping themselves in fear of these times. It doesn't have to be that
way for them, all they need is to turn to our Father, and not mankind. But for those truly
in Christ, I think we are ready for the end of this flesh time. I certainly am, because
our Knowledge from our Father in His Word definitely helps us to prepare and hope for the
change, because we know Life is going to return to how our Father meant It to be, as in
that time 'of old' on a renewed earth. What a wonderful time to live, for those in Christ
today. Our hope and faith in Christ is sieving through the veil of this flesh, ready to
flourish in a grand and Righteous Way.
Isa 15:8 For the
cry is gone round about the borders of Moab; the howling thereof unto Eglaim, and the
howling thereof unto Beerelim.
'Eglaim'
means 'double-pond, or double reservoir' (Strong's no. 97). One body of water is
Pure, the other is muddy and desolate. The word 'Beerelim' means 'well of heroes'
(Strong's no. 879).
Who is supposed to be our 'Hero'? Our Heavenly Father
should be. He also is our Pure Waters of Life. So this verse is just continuing the
turning away from our Father which Moab does, and they 'howl' because of their own
'falling away' from God. There ARE two ways, but only One is Right, and That Righteous Way
is Our Father and His Son Jesus Christ. The other way is false, and for today, the
deceived are those who follow idols and the world's knowledge, and not Knowledge of
Christ.
So which 'pond' do you want to wash your sins away in?
Satan's pond which is full of stagnant and muddy water, or One Which is Pure, being Jesus
Christ? Each must choose which, there is no middle road.
Isa
15:9 For the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will
bring more upon Dimon, lions upon him that escapeth of Moab, and upon the
remnant of the land.
'Dimon' means a 'wasting', and as all these places of Moab, they are all referred to in a
desolate state; why? Because they turn away from GOD and walk in Satan's camp.
Moab's 'pond' of water is going to be full of blood because of their deceptions.
The word 'lions' is singular 'a lion', put for
wild beasts (Strong's no. 738). But you should know by now what this 'lion' is talking
about, not literal wild beasts, but Satan and his host of 'beasts'. Even this last flesh
world-government system is represented in God's Word by the word 'beast' in
Revelation 13 and 17. And Satan and his children, the Kenite (sons of Cain), are also
these 'wild beasts' which tear the soul apart of those who are deceived.
And for today's time, the deceptions by Satan as a false
messiah is how the soul of many will be devoured. In this verse note that GOD is The One
Who is bringing these 'beasts' upon those who remain apostate from our Father. They don't
listen to His Word, but to 'systems' of men. They have no maturity in Christ, staying
continuously on the 'milk' of Salvation and Baptism doctrine, and never going into the
'meat' of God's Word. And they could care less about who the Assyrian is today.
This Message concerning Moab, as an example for today's time also, will continue in the
next Chapter 16. It's really important to have some of the Bible Tools
to translate these names. Much of God's Message in this Chapter could not have been
understood, without translating these names from the Hebrew.
Peace be with you in Christ,
Dave Ramey.
