Isaiah 11:1 - 11:16
In
the last study on Isaiah, our Father gave us more specific information on how the Assyrian
came into Jerusalem. This was all given as a 'type', or 'blueprint' for what shall
happen in the latter days, but 'another' shall play this role of the Assyrian,
instead of Sargon. Many of these events in Isaiah, which most were history, but
others here are still yet to take place, explain much of the symbology of the Book of
Revelation, as given by our Lord Christ Jesus. All Books of the prophets will give
the student information that helps in understanding Revelation, and The Gospel, and should
not just be 'laid' aside, as they are also part of God's Word. Our Father wouldn't
have given them to us if that were not so. Some may feel they're wasting time here in
Isaiah, since The Gospel ('Good News') is already in our possession, but they err, because
even Jesus referred back to The Old Testament prophets many times, as also did Paul who
wrote most of The New Testament. Therefore, by doing a serious study in The Old Testament,
you will know to the 'depth', lessons our Lord Christ and His Apostles were teaching in
The Gospel. Don't let any man or system tell you The Old Testament isn't necessary
anymore.
In this Chapter 11 of Isaiah, our Father shows us about His
'Branch' Jesus Christ, and the reason why we as servants of The Living God have
no reason to fear this Assyrian (Satan). We ask a Word of Wisdom from our Father,
in Christ Yeshua's Name, Amen.
Isa
11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch
shall grow out of his roots:
This 'Branch' is a descendant of 'Jesse',
the father of King David. You'll find this genealogy of 'The Branch' Jesus Christ
written in Luke 3 starting at verse 23, which is Mary's lineage, the mother of our Lord
and Savior.
So, here we have in The Old Testament Book of Isaiah yet
another direct mention of our Lord Jesus Christ. We've been given several already so far
in this study of Isaiah, and there will be more.
David was our Father's 'anointed', being the youngest son of
Jesse anointed by the prophet Samuel (I Sam.16). Our Father loved David because he
followed His Commandments, and though he sinned, he later did repent, and God would even
say about David, "a man after Mine own heart" in Acts 13:22 and I
Samuel 13. This meant David's heart was 'perfect' with The LORD, and thus Christ
Messiah (the Anointed One), is also called the 'Son of David' coming from his
lineage of Nathan, not Solomon.
(The lineage given in Matthew 1 is Joseph's, the husband of
Mary. The key is to look in Matthew 1 for who 'begat' Mary's husband Joseph, and note
the distinction in Luke 3:23 'as was supposed' meaning 'reckoned by law', Heli
being Joseph's 'father-in-law', but Mary's true father. Mary was also cousin to Elisabeth
a Levite and the mother of John the Baptist. This then makes Mary also a Levite. Her
husband Joseph was not. See Luke 1).
Isa
11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the spirit of
wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit
of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Our Father is giving us comfort in knowing that He would send His
Son Jesus Christ for our salvation by believing on Him. The words underlined in this verse
are the Seven Spirits, which are from our Father which rest upon His Son Jesus
Christ, and are also given in Revelation 3; 4, & 5 (also see Zech.3:9; 4:10).
This word 'fear' is a bad translation. The word is 'yir'ah'
in the Hebrew and means 'to fear (also used as infinitive); morally, reverence'
(Strong's no.3374). It's a mistake to think that Jesus Christ would be afraid of His
Father, being 'Immanuel' 'God with us'. The proper meaning is 'reverence'.
We are to 'reverence' God as we would a loving paternal father who must correct
us at times, out of love for us, for God is The Father of all souls. It's as simple as
that. What kind of heart and attitude goes along with 'reverence' then?
Well the main thing is, when we 'reverence' God we start to really listen and pay
attention, with respect, and try to please Him by following His Word Jesus Christ (see
John 1). Then He loves to bless us and give us good things in return. When we don't
follow Him, it's like saying we don't need Him, so we get what we deserve either way,
blessings, or...punishment and strife. It's sad that many people don't recognize the
difference. These Seven Spirits represent the various 'gifts' of The
Holy Spirit which He will give us for 'reverencing' and following Him, which means to believe
on His Son, The Branch, Jesus Christ, and do our best to follow
His Commandments (see I Cor.12).
Isa
11:3 And shall make Him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD:
and He shall not judge after the sight of His eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of
His ears:
This word 'fear' again is 'reverence'. Christ
Immanu-El 'God with us' has no need of witnesses to know how to rightly judge
with the heart, for He already knows us. How quick man is to judge others. How many times
have we believed a falsehood that others have said against a friend or loved one, or
passed bad judgment because we saw wrongly with our flesh eyes, jumping to conclusions? I
know none born in the flesh that are not guilty of this, for only Christ Jesus is
'Perfect' in these matters, and the Only One without any sin while in the flesh, as the
ones who crucified our Lord well knew also.
I hope you're noticing something here in Isaiah. We're kind
of learning The Gospel of Christ here aren't we? Remember Jesus said He came 'in the
volume of The Book!' (Heb.10 & Ps.40).
Isa
11:4 But with righteousness shall He judge the poor, and reprove with equity
for the meek of the earth: and He shall smite the earth with the rod of His mouth,
and with the breath of His lips shall He slay the wicked.
The first Advent of Christ did not accomplish all of this, though our
Lord performed many miracles and good works while in the flesh to give a testimony that He
was the awaited Messiah. His first Advent was as 'meek as a Lamb', to sacrifice Himself on
the cross for us, offering 'The Way of Salvation' to all. The last part of this
verse after the colon, is future to us still. Revelation 19:15 parallels this verse, as
the second Advent of Christ's return is when He will consummate
the remainder of It.
This 'breath of His lips' is the 'two-edge Sword' that 'cuts both
ways', i.e., The Word. Upon the second Advent of Christ is when 'all'
will be changed into the spiritual body, casting off the flesh of this second earth age
(see I Cor.15; Rev.1:16; 2 Thess.2:8). It's important to understand that nothing 'wicked'
will survive to the last and final earth age, God's Eternity. That's the meaning of 'slay
the wicked' in this verse.
Isa
11:5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of His loins, and faithfulness the
girdle of His reins.
I believe the KJV translators could have done a better job with
this verse. It says a lot more in the Hebrew. The word 'girdle' in the
Hebrew is 'ezowr' meaning 'a belt', but from a Hebrew root 'ziyqah',
which means 'what leaps forth, i.e., flash of fire, or a burning arrow' (Strong's
nos.232; 246; 2131). And 'faithfulness' is 'emuwnah' meaning 'literally
firmness, figuratively security, morally fidelity', and 'reins' is 'chalats',
meaning 'by implication, to deliver, equip (for fight); present, strengthen'
(Strong's nos. 2504; 2502).
Put all this together and we really have something like:
"His righteousness will be as a 'belt of a sharp burning fire', and from Him will
come a strong Rule, full of peace and prosperity, secure, with all moral and righteous judgment, and there will be no end of His Power." Is not our Father 'a
consuming fire'? Is there any higher power than YHVH? Are there such adjectives
as 'faithfulness of steel' and 'righteousness of pure crystal seas'? I don't think
any written language of man can really convey the full meaning of this verse. What greater
Comforter do we need at this time than this Message of Promise, from our Father concerning
His Son Jesus Christ? This Message here in Isaiah is also for us today, but in the second
stage, for we are given here to expect and hope, in faithfulness to the second Advent
(coming) of Messiah Christ Jesus.
Isa
11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down
with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child
shall lead them.
Keep in mind, God is giving us His Comforter, The Holy Spirit to
'know' these verses here. Use your 'Spirit' understanding and you'll get much more
from it. We learned from the previous verses that all will be safe and 'secure'
during God's Eternity of a heaven upon this old earth. Even a little helpless child
will be able to play among animals that today, would devour. For those who enjoy the
'survival of the strongest' animal kingdom traits, it's all going to
change.
Isa
11:7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down
together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the
weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain: for the earth
shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
This has not happened yet on this earth, and these verses have a double meaning. One, for
the beginning of God's Millennium reign upon the earth for a thousand years, when all
nations and peoples who did not follow Him, will be subdued. There will be no wars,
but a time of peace, and a great time of learning the Knowledge of The LORD, for His Word
will be known everywhere throughout the whole earth and heavens. In this sense, I'm
talking about these 'beasts of the field', such as the lion, bear, and asp, lying down in
peace with the lamb, kid (young goat), and ox, as symbols for the various nations of
deceived peoples who attack God's People during this age now. The symbol of the 'lion'
applies to the rulers of Judah, a 'young lion' being a prince (see Psalms 58). Daniel 7
and Revelation 13:2 applies these symbols of the bear, lion, leopard,
and dragon (asp) with the last 'beast' government system on earth, now in its
final stages. Even as Satan the 'dragon' will be bound for a thousand years, which is the
Millennium reign of Jesus Christ on earth, the 'sucking child' or infant, will be not even
be in danger during that time. That's an expression, for all will be in their
spiritual angelic body, and appear as 'youths', never getting old, etc. (see Matt.22:30).
Here's the next part, and many have a hard time with this,
and I feel it's because of seeing and believing too much with 'flesh eyes' instead of the
Spirit. I know it's tempting to only see all these animals as symbols for all the
nations settling down together in peace, but let's get some backup from The Word. In
Gen.1:30 God gave all animals or beasts, and mankind, the 'green herb' for food (meat).
Nothing was said of 'animal meat' for food there. The lineage from the specific Adam
(eth'Ha'adham) and Eve weren't given 'animal meat' for food until after Noah's
flood as written in Genesis 9. So before Satan tempted Eve in God's Paradise on
earth (Garden of Eden), what did they eat there? Am I saying that Adam and Eve weren't
created flesh? No. What I'm saying is, that in the last earth age, God's Eternity,
there will be no carnivores, for there will be no flesh, as Paul alluded to with "flesh
and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God" (I Cor.15:50) Animal
sacrifice is not mentioned until after the fall, with Abel being the first to offer unto
The LORD, but it is not written that Abel ate it (see Gen.4). Moreover, if you went and
researched for yourself my teaching on Genesis dealing with the Garden of Eden, and God
dwelling there, and that 'river' in the midst being the same River to be set up
again in the last and third earth age, flowing from God's Throne on earth, then this idea
of the 'lion shall eat straw like the ox' should open up to you (see Rev.22 &
my Genesis Letters).
I don't expect you to accept my word for it; you must see it for
yourself. Here's some points in Scripture that will help if you're interested (Hosea
2:16-18 makes a distinction with 'creeping things' and 'fowls of heaven'. Rev.5:13
states that all creation will declare glory unto The LORD, even the creatures 'in' the
sea. Isaiah 43:18-20 makes a distinction with 'beasts of the field' as in Genesis 1; and
'dragons' are in the sense of dinosaurs, as God is also recalling in that verse, our
remembrance of the state of creation during the first earth age with: "Remember
ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old." Isa.43:18.
The 'owl' (ostrich) is also mentioned there, as honoring our Father during the
'new heavens and earth' time. See Ezekiel 47:8-12 giving Ezekiel the vision of God's
Eternity looking eastward from the Final Temple in the New Jerusalem. A description of
God's Millennium starts around Ezekiel Chapter 39 and continues to the end of the Book
Chapter 48. See Psalms 74 with descriptions of God destroying the first earth age
and setting up the second age of now. Also see I Cor. 15; Job 40-41. Understanding that
the last earth age will not be of flesh, and that it will be a putting back of God's first
creation, before this age of flesh, might be a big step; but remember from Rev.21:23;
Rev.22:5; Isaiah 60:19-20 that there will be no need of the sun, and there will be no
night. Genesis 1 also makes this point when taken to a deeper level, as our Father
was That LIGHT in the first earth age, and will be again in the final age. There's a lot
to consider and tie together with these references, so take your time.)
Isa
11:10 And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, which
shall stand for an ensign of the people; to It shall the Gentiles seek: and His
rest shall be glorious.
The words in bold were quoted by Paul in Rom.15:12. Again,
this Root of Jesse is Jesus Christ, KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS. Christ is
our 'Ensign' (Flag), for those who believe, and He will be The Ensign
for 'all' during this time. All nations of the Gentiles will gather to this Ensign
(Christ), see Isa.60; Acts 28:28; Romans 15.
Isa
11:11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall set
His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His People, which shall be
left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam,
and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
Recover the remnant of His People the second time? So
when was the first time? What is God teaching us here in this Chapter 11? The
subject is about the Second Advent of Christ when this earth age (aion) of flesh
is ended. The first 'time' refers to the first establishment of Israel out of
Egypt, the return of Judah after the Babylon captivity, the return of those from Elam with
Zerubbabel, and the prophesied first Advent of Messiah Christ, a symbol for all of those
past historical events. But the 'second time' here has not yet happened, if you
understand that the Assyrian is a role that the Antichrist will fulfill. These other
regions, including 'the islands of the sea', cover all four cardinal directions;
north, south, east, and west. This is talking about the 'gathering' to Christ
from all corners of the earth, when He sets foot on the Mount of Olives, and this 'remnant'
that flees to Christ will also include many of the Gentiles.
Isa
11:12 And He shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts
of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four
corners of the earth.
Here we have the phrase 'from the four corners of the earth'
which ties with the previous verse of the 'gathering' to Shiloh, letting us know that
Christ's second Advent is the subject here in Isaiah 11. The word 'nations' is 'gowy'
in the Hebrew, meaning 'a foreign nation, hence a Gentile' (Strong's no.1471).
Why would the 'outcasts of Israel' and 'the dispersed of Judah' be
mentioned separately here, I thought Judah was Israel? Not today, for Israel is
wherever the throne of rule is, and you don't see a king set up over the land of Israel in
the middleast today do you? The last king there was Zedekiah during Jeremiah the prophet's
time, and God said there would never fail a king to sit on that throne until Shiloh
(Christ) comes, so where is it today? (see Gen.49:10) See my Manasseh studies to
learn why both houses, the 'house of Israel', and the 'house of Judah' are still separate
today, and where they are.
Isa
11:13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah
shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
This Ephraim represents the Ten Tribes of Israel that
migrated north and west to the isles and Europe, forming the western Christian nations.
Ephraim was the largest of the ten, and is used as a symbol for all ten tribes of the
northern kingdom that were taken captive by the Assyrian, but never returned to the Holy
Land. If you'll remember back to Isaiah 7, the king of Israel and the king of Syria
went to make war with Jerusalem, i.e., Judah. Since this is prophecy also, does it
apply to the western Christian nations also being envious of Jerusalem and Judah? Is
Judah vexing Ephraim (house of Israel) still today? I think so, for there's a lot
of political diplomacy that's been shot back and forth between these two lately dealing
with the 'final peace' accords, all under the United Nations 'beast' system.
This verse also symbolizing the 'two sticks' of Ezekiel 37 being
put back together, forming 'one house' called Israel, all when Christ returns this next
time.
Isa
11:14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the
west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and
Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them.
When both 'houses' are put back together during God's Millennium
reign of His Son and the elect, this remnant of Israel, i.e. God's elect, will be teachers
of The Word for all nations of peoples who were deceived and followed Satan's false
kingdom and ways. At that time there's going to be a state of separation between God's
Mountain with His elect, and those who did not follow our Father in this flesh age, as
given in Ezek.44. It will be similar to the 'great gulf fixed' our Lord Christ
taught about in Luke 16. This is when Christ will rule with a 'rod of iron' as
written in Rev.19.
Isa
11:15 And the LORD shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with
His mighty wind shall he shake His hand over the river, and shall smite it in the
seven streams, and make men go over dryshod.
There's going to be a great 'trembling' again, when Christ
returns on the second Advent (see also Jer.4). The 'mighty wind' represents the 'four
winds', God's Holy Spirit Consuming Fire (Heb.12). These 'four winds' also
gather the elect back to Christ (Ezek.37; Matt.24:31). All things of this flesh age will
be consumed, as written by Peter in II Peter 3. God's People, His elect shall not be
harmed at this, but it will be a time of rejoicing to The Lord.
Isa
11:16 And there shall be an highway for the remnant of His People, which shall
be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land
of Egypt.
This is how those of the previous verse 'go over dryshod',
back to Mount Zion to join the 'two sticks', just as all Israel was led by God through
Moses, out of the Egyptian captivity. This verse especially points to those who went into
captivity to Assyria, i.e., the 'house of Israel', the Ten Tribes, and many of dispersed
Judah that never returned to the land of Israel.
We see with this Chapter 11 that our Father really loves those
who seek Him, as He has told those who love Him through His Son Jesus Christ, all things.
For those who are having a hard time today with all the abominations happening in the
world, and the things coming upon the world, this Chapter 11 of Isaiah is a 'special gift'
from our Father so that we would not worry, being prepared. Those Chapters of Job 40-41
referenced earlier, are another 'ensample' for us today, as our Father recounts
to Job how He also created the 'behemoth' (dinosaur), which no man could subdue
or wrestle with. But under God's 'Covering', we truly have protection if we serve Him. So
our Father likewise is under control of the 'behemoth' and Leviathan,
and especially Satan and his beast system. As Paul would say in Romans 8:31: "If
God be for us, who can be against us?"
Isaiah 12:1 - 12:6
Isa
12:1 And in that day thou shalt say, "O LORD, I will praise Thee:
though Thou wast angry with me, Thine anger is turned away, and Thou comfortedst me.
This is still on God's Millennium, the Lord's Day. God's anger
will be turned away during that time, and He will truly be a Comfort to all. He
loves all His creation, and will not 'blot' out any who were deceived during this flesh
age unless they still choose Satan after properly understanding His Word as It will be
taught to them during the Millennium reign by Christ. After the thousand year Millennium,
those deceived will get their chance to prove themselves as to which path they wish to go,
still with Satan, or to The True Father of all souls, YHVH through His Son Yashu'a Messiah
Christ. This is why Satan, the 'dragon' will be bound for this thousand year
period, and then will be released to try these new hearers of The Word (see Rev.20).
All this is very important. Many simply do not teach about
this Millennium reign of Christ and the elect. How could our Father be seen as fair
without this event? Many today just don't have a chance at hearing The True Word of
God. As Christ was asked by His Apostles why He only spoke to the multitudes in parable,
what was His reply? "He answered and said unto them, 'Because it is given unto
you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.'"(Matt.13:11).
It would be most unfair of our Father to just go directly into the Great White Throne
Judgment, the third and last earth age, the Eternity, blotting out these whom 'it is
not given' to know The Word, don't you think? (See Rev.20:11-15).
All those who believe on Christ Jesus as Savior will be
saved. But what about those who do not believe today, as 'it is not given' for
them to understand The Word during this flesh age? Better yet, how many places can one go
to today and hear The True Word of God taught chapter by chapter, verse by verse? The
Lord's Day will be a time for teaching The Word, and the whole earth will be filled with
the knowledge of The LORD, as written.
Isa 12:2 Behold, GOD is my salvation; I
will trust, and not be afraid: for THE LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my
song; He also is become my salvation.
12:3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of
salvation."
Let's go back to the Hebrew a little here. The word 'GOD' is
'El, the word 'LORD' is 'Yaw' or 'Yah' a contraction of
'Yehovah', and 'JEHOVAH' is 'Yehovah' (Strong's nos.410;350;3068;1961).
The word 'JEHOVAH' is transliterated, not translated. This means the KJV
translators matched Hebrew character for English character, which can stray from a word's
meaning when going to another language. That's why all Christians should rely on the
Manuscripts as the final Word. A Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and The King
James Version of 1611 are the minimal study tools to do this. If you prefer to
use a later Bible translation because it's easier to read, fine, but you'll lose some of
the meaning which God intended in His Word. God has meant for some to go deeper into His
Word because it is given for them to know. Have you felt there was more to The Word than
is normally taught?
The phrase 'GOD is my salvation' properly translated
means 'GOD is Yeshuw'ah' ('El yeshuw'ah', Strong's nos.410;344). So what
does 'yeshuw'ah' mean? When you say 'yeshuw'ah' in the Hebrew, you are
saying 'The Savior', that is to say, Jesus Christ, for He is our Savior. The word Isaiah
in the Hebrew is 'Yesha'yah' and means 'Jah has saved', past
tense. That is, if you believe on 'Yah's Savior Yeshuw'ah The Messiah
Jesus Christ's as His Only Begotten Son, having died on the cross and rose on the third
day to offer us salvation, then...your salvation is PAST TENSE, DONE!
Christ is the 'wells of salvation' in this verse
of Isa.12:3, as also mentioned to the woman at the well in John 4.
Isa
12:4 And in that day shall ye say, "Praise the LORD, call upon His
name, declare His doings among the people, make mention that His name is exalted.
Who's going to be saying this to the people then? The elect, who
accept 'Yeshuw'ah' God's Savior, that's who. God's elect shall be teachers of the deceived
and non-believing peoples at that time. What are 'His doings'? It's talking about
His Word, and It will be at that time taught to those who didn't receive It during this
flesh age.
Isa
12:5 Sing unto the LORD; for He hath done excellent things: this is known
in all the earth.
6 Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is
the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.'"
The earth at that time will be full of the Knowledge of His Word.
Who will be the 'inhabitant of Zion'? Both 'houses' of Israel, the remnant who is
saved, God's elect including many of all nations (Rev.7:9). The last phrase is to let us
know that God will dwell there at Zion. Even in the last verse and words of the Book of
Ezekiel we are given: 'The LORD is there' or 'Yehovah Shammah'
(Ezekiel 48:35).
What a beautiful Message our Father has given us, and for
these times especially. I hope you enjoyed this study as much as I have, and may God bless
you in His Word.
Peace be with you in Christ
Jesus,
Dave Ramey.
