Genesis 5:15 - 5:32
We
left off at Genesis 5:14, covering the genealogy of the 'eth' Ha' adham', which
is to say, the 'specific man named Adam' who God placed in the Garden of Eden to till the
soil. Many from the sons of Cain were covered back in Genesis 4, and with Gen.4:26 men
began to 'profane' the calling upon the Name of The LORD with the worship of other things
instead of our True Father Jehovah. This profaning was continuing, and we will soon be
given examples of just how far it would go in Genesis 6. This 'profaning' with the worship
of many different 'gods' is still going on today, as the offspring of Cain are still with
us. Many good people have been suckered into following those systems because they are
hidden on the surface level even to the new petitioner. But deep down inside those pagan
groups are individuals who know they are worshipping Satan. Well did God warn His People
of these things in His Word? You bet! Even in many Scriptures. Here's one example where
the sons of Cain had evidently crept into God's Temple, as written here in Ezekiel 8. God
had just touched Ezekiel, and he was ushered into the 'spirit', being shown a vision of
what was really going on. We ask a Word of Wisdom from our Father in Christ Jesus' Name,
Amen:
Ezek
8:5 Then said He unto me, "Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way
toward the north." So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold
northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.
6 He said furthermore unto me, "Son of man, seest thou
what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel
committeth here, that I should go far off from My sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and
thou shalt see greater abominations."
At the start of this Chapter 8 of Ezekiel, he was seated
with the elders of Judah, when 'the hand of the Lord GOD fell' upon him to take him in the
'spirit of vision'. Ezekiel was looking northward at the then existing north gate of the
altar of God's House, The Temple Mount in Jerusalem. These were abominations that were
going on then, during Ezekiel's time, there in Jerusalem, and among also the 'house of
Israel', as referenced in verse 6. This 'image of jealousy' was an idol which was
provoking our Father Jehovah to jealousy, and thus He left afar off from this Sanctuary.
Hey, it gets more interesting...(we need some 'Jaws' music about right now...):
Ezek
8:7 And He brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a
hole in the wall.
8 Then said He unto me, "Son of man, dig now in the wall:" and
when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.
9 And He said unto me, "Go in, and behold the wicked abominations
that they do here."
This 'a hole in the wall' symbolizes a mysterious
event, hidden from the People's eyes, but God is showing Ezekiel what's really taking
place behind 'closed doors'.
Ezek
8:10 So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and
abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall
round about.
11 And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house
of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his
censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.
Images and idols, 'creeping things' of animalistic worship,
everything and anything, that portrays worship in opposition to Jehovah. And here stood
'seventy men of the ancients (elders) of the house of Israel'. They were supposed to be
righteous leaders of God's People, increasing in the teaching of His Word to His People.
Let's cover a little bit more, just to really cap the message of false worship:
Ezek
8:14 Then He brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD's
house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for
Tammuz.
15 Then said He unto me, "Hast thou seen this, O son of
man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these."
16 And He brought me into the inner court of the LORD's house, and,
behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were
about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces
toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
'Tammuz' was an idol personified with animal and
vegetable life, a pagan Phoenician and Babylonia system.
Then these twenty-five who have their backs turned away from
The LORD are worshipping the 'sun', 'fire philosophers' you might say, since they believe
that the 'sun' is god. Ahkneton, pharaoh of Egypt used the solar disc 'Aton', with lines
drawn from its center representing the sun's rays, with little hands attached to the end
of each ray. But that was Egypt, and this Temple here in Jerusalem is supposed to be God's
House, so what's going on here?
I hope you understand how if you aren't watching out, your
'Beth-El' (House of God, or Christ's Church), can become a 'Beth-Aven' (house of
nothings, a vanity), by accepting dogma and traditions (such as Easter for one) which are
outside of God's Word. This message here God is giving to Ezekiel is not to the 'house of
Judah' only, but to the 'house of Israel' also, so don't think this applied only to
certain Jewish Elders.
The main point I'm trying to make, is that in Genesis 4:26,
with the 'profaning of the Name of The LORD', these abominations started. They came from
Babylonia, the seat of Satan, and also, where in my opinion, was the 'land of Nod'. Now
let's continue our study in Genesis 5.
Gen
5:15 And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat Jared:
16 And Mahalaleel lived after he begat Jared eight hundred and thirty
years, and begat sons and daughters:
17 And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety and five
years: and he died.
18 And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and he begat Enoch:
We are continuing the lineage of the 'eth' Ha' adham'
here. As given in the last Letter on Genesis, this 'Mahalaleel' means 'praise
of God' in the Hebrew (Strong's no. 4111). 'Jared' is 'Yered' in
the Hebrew meaning 'to descend' (Strong's no.3382). Since false worship was going
on at this time, even amongst the bloodline offspring of 'eth' Ha' adham', that
being Enos, could this meaning of Jared's name (descent) also point to the state
of affairs with mankind upon the earth at that time?
Here begins a change in the family of 'the Adam' with this 'Enoch'
of verse 18, which is from the Hebrew root 'chanak', meaning 'to initiate
discipline' (Strong's nos. 2596 & 2585). In my opinion, this Enoch from 'the
Adam', was the first example of strong 'discipleship' for God on earth. Let's turn to the
Book of Jude to find out more about Enoch:
Jude
1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these,
saying, "Behold, the LORD cometh with ten thousands of His saints,
15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly
among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their
hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him."
The message in the Book of Jude is about ungodly men, and
the fallen angels. Here in verse 14, Enoch is mentioned as a 'prophet', which is very
correct, for some of this verse 15 of Jude hasn't happened yet to even our time. So Enoch
represents the first prophet of God given to the lineage of the 'eth' Ha' adham'.
Since God walked in the Garden with Adam and Eve, no prophet was needed at that time. But
here at Genesis 5:18, and the state of affairs upon the earth, things were different.
Gen
5:19 And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred years, and begat sons
and daughters:
20 And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and two years: and
he died.
21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:
We still see here that none have made it past a thousand
years old. This 'Methuselah' is 'Methuwshelach' in the Hebrew meaning 'man
of a dart', however, the last Hebrew root word of his name 'shelach' can
mean 'to shoot forth, a branch' (Strong's no.4962 & 7973).
Gen
5:22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years,
and begat sons and daughters:
23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Notice that Enoch did not die, for 'God took him'. He was
'translated', even at the early age of 365 years. Wonder why? Was God saving him from some
future event because he walked with God? As said before, this Enoch of 'the Adam' was a
prophet of God, probably giving warnings as to the events coming soon after his day, with
the fallen angels and the time of Noah's flood. Notice that Cain back in Gen.4 had an
'Enoch' in his lineage also? This is a message from our Father that His genealogies which
He set forth are important, especially to His People.
Gen
5:25 And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years, and begat Lamech:
26 And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and
two years, and begat sons and daughters:
27 And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine
years: and he died.
Remember that Cain had a Lamech in his genealogy? This of
course is not the same Lamech (powerful), as this one was the father of Noah.
This Methuselah lived longer than any other in the flesh
with nine hundred and sixty nine years. What a time to have lived upon the earth it must
have been, in the sense that the beauty of the earth had no pollution or over crowdedness.
The various environmental groups of today think this old earth must go back to this state,
trying to cut down on today's usage of resources, but it won't happen with that method;
for God will be the only One to cleanse this old earth in the future. I'm not saying it's
alright to go out and pollute this beautiful earth which God made for all, on the
contrary, but you tell me, how can man accomplish it without destroying life as we know
it? (Some groups wish to do this, though I won't call any names).
Gen
5:28 And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:
29 And he called his name Noah, saying, 'This same shall comfort
us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath
cursed."
Noah is 'Noach' in the Hebrew and means 'to
rest' (Strong's no.5146). The word Sabbath also means 'rest', and Christ became our
'Rest', that True Sabbath of 'Rest' given to all who come to Jesus Christ, Who also is our
Comforter (Hebrews 4; John 15:26). All this and more are represented by the name 'Noach'
(Noah). You will also find by determining the actual time of the flood of Noah's days,
that it was around five months, or one hundred and fifty days exactly (Gen.7:11 - 8:3).
This also represents the shortened time of Satan's tribulation (remember Satan's flood?
Rev.17:15; Isaiah 59:19), for the sake of the elect upon this earth as given in Mark 13
and Revelation 9, so the flood of Noah represents even more. You are even given there in
Gen.7 which months, beginning with 'the second month' according to the Hebrew Calendar,
our May through September, which is also the natural time of locusts.
Gen
5:30 And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years,
and begat sons and daughters:
31 And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven
years: and he died.
32 And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and
Japheth.
Noah was five hundred years old before he had any children.
Five in Biblical numerics means 'grace'. Also, Noah's father Lamech died five years before
the flood. That means Noah and his immediate family were the only bloodline lineage from
'the man Adam' still living at the time of the flood (the math verifies this also). Thus
all of Noah's ancestors who kept their bloodline purity, had all died, being spared from
the destruction of the flood. Was this another reason for Enoch being taken out by God?
All others of Adam's offspring became 'tainted' or mixed and had not preserved their
bloodline purity for Christ's future birth.
Is it possible that the intermixing of the 'fallen angels' with
the daughters of men may have presented problems for Noah in finding a wife who was still
pure in the 'eth' Ha' adham' bloodline. It doesn't take much common sense to
figure out that since Enoch was Noah's grandfather, and Enoch having prophesied about
these 'fallen angels', as given in the Book of Jude, and God pulling Enoch out of the
mess, thus Noah undoubtedly knew of this intermixing and understood about the need of
keeping his bloodline pure.
Many may have a problem with this idea of Noah and his
direct ancestry keeping their lineage pure from the 'eth'Ha'adham', but the
Hebrew in the next Chapter of Genesis 6 will make this idea very clear. Remember, 'the
particular Adam' placed in the Garden of God was for a special reason; to provide for the
'Seed' of the Woman from which Jesus Christ would be born from. We'll start covering this
'mystery' of the fallen angels mixing with the daughters of flesh in the next Letter.
Peace be with you in Christ
Jesus,
Dave Ramey.
